I was talking with Doman and disintegration came up but we can't think of a way to do it that doesn't already exist as something else.
I could see something like... higher flight elevations that can only be accessed by an aeromancer using a single target skill on a player (lift them up and then shoot them into the stratosphere or hurl them at the ground) though that seems easy and wouldn't work if twister dumps them back down.

I am not advocating reducing bleed on amputate itself, just on pyro amputate. Also, I believe that amputates should not happen below fourth degree burns. From testing it looks like they are happening on 3rd and with active attacks you can be at 3rd fairly easy. I would say move that up to 5th.
@Kialkarkea: It is pretty easy to see that bleed for pyros is insane, 850 a limb easily adds up to 1k+ and is passive. Not even druids which are supposed to be the bleed meld can get that passively in 1 tic.

Well then drop it I guess, but you shouldn't move amuptate up to 4th degree. There's no point in using anything that will amputate once they're at 4th degree, you just CREMATE them then.

You can't cremate everyone. You can, however, work to keep everyone from leaving by making sure they are dissolved so your meld hits while you work on cremating others. Also, what Xenthos said, though of course that only works if they are dumb enough not to read protection or to put it up again after you strip it, thankfully most are that dumb.
With amputates as low as they are you can steamroll just about anyone who does not have above average curing. This is not balanced. This is like the early PPK monks. I am willing to wait a month though and see what happens once people actually have proper curing in place for it all, but I don't imagine my stance on the bleeding or the level at which amputates happen will change.

He means if they get away from you at high burns. Of course, effects only hit in a one-room radius now in a much smaller demesne, so that's less of an issue. You should spend that eq moving away, not raising protection.

EDIT: And it's never correct to raise protection in a melder's face. It's a far more efficient use of eq to shield.

Right, but getting farther away is not always an option. I would rather take a couple hits from warriors in the next room over while I am popping protection up, instead of getting another meld tic on me.
Edit:: And even those people who run far away and cure usually forget to put protection back up before coming back in. Just in case for some strange reason there was some impression that I was talking 1vs1, I will clarify that I am referring to group fights here. All sorts of times in group fights in opposed melds I have had my protection stripped, put it back up when I had a moment to spare or a meld was getting to much with everything else, and kept on going. Targets change so much that a melder can't always dissolve you fast enough to keep a meld hitting on everyone. Many people I find, don't do that though. They forget to put it back up or don't take a quick moment to toss it back up in the middle of a fight to offer a delay on a meld.
