Could those who join the new guilds in Gaudifax during the first... week or so get full lesson refund so that the loss of joining these two new orgs won't be too steep? I know of quite a few who'd change if that were the case.

Sounds like a pretty terrible marketing idea to me.
Shiri2009-12-21 05:56:03
We don't exactly want to suction everyone out of the existing orgs.
Kaalak2009-12-21 06:05:54
Eh, they need to make money.
Unknown2009-12-21 14:17:31
Yeah, they need to make their moolah, and releasing things like this is one of the ways they do it.

However...I think a nice idea for when the new guilds come out (warrior and guardian), people who are currently citizens of Hallifax/Gaudiguch could at least get a bonus refund. Because right now you either,

A. Have to spend credits to join a mage guild that you may not want to

B. Just not be able to bash/pvp for months.

That is why Estarra decided to make that news post enlightening you as to how it will be happening, so people do not jump the gun and then feel gimped and blame us.

You've been made aware of the situation, so plan accordingly! smile.gif

Haha what.

If you want to make the leap, better be willing to take the bad along with the good.

On the other hand, she did cleverly do it during a Credit sale. So you'll get 25% More bang for your buck.
Kiradawea2009-12-22 03:18:44
I ain't. But frankly, if a city or commune loses more people due to this, it's a good thing. Especially the forests, where they already suffer from having to forget all skills to join in on building these cities. They're gonna need all the help they can get with the Lusternian population being as inclined to bastardry as it is.

I hate to say this because I know the admin for the most part aren't paid, and don't do this for pay.

Buy credits. Screw "conserve lessons". They've been working their asses off, just released two whole cities, and they deserve to be appreciated. Appreciate their services, show them that what they do matters, and buy credits or at least not complain if you decide to switch and you need lessons. Barring that, scour the basin for gnomes, I just got a free 500+ lessons from artifact tradeins. It's not hard to make up the lessons. Write bardics/artisanals if you have to.

It's hard enough most people don't even bother trying to get into IRE games, and I still maintain these new cities are gonna need all the help they can get.

Have you seen the crowds lining up to get in? 2/3 are alts people haven't played in years, but still. I saw Jin, Azaryu, and a crapload of people "wake up" because they heard the cities were open.
Kiradawea2009-12-22 04:23:35
Yes. I've also heard lots of complaints that it'll be too expensive for some to change city.

To tell you the truth, the only thing keeping me in Celest is the lesson penalty and a couple of friends. But, if it were removed, I would move to Hallifax in the blink of an eye.

What would it take to get you to Hallifax, then? /revenge

Lesson loss is necessary, it shouldn't go anywhere. There is a 25% bonus to credit purchases right now anyway. As I've said ingame people are welcome to leave Celest and go to Gaudiguch and Hallifax, there will be no negative consequence from just leaving.

Artisanals and bardics are your friends, really.
