I couldn't find much information between the differences so I'm interested in what you've chosen and why. Discuss!

I chose Lowmagic so I could choose Herbs (and now Poisons).
The only real differences are in the highest abilities, like Serpent and GreatPentagram. The rest is either identical or slightly different, like +CHA instead of +CON.

Actually, I think it was +STR instead of CON since the charisma one doesn't cost power.

Love high magic for yesod.
The +con and autumn in low magic is pretty sweet though.

Pretty sure Hod is not an int buff.
It would be nice if it was though.

Gedulah is the green equivalent. Geburah gives +STR

Boy speaks truth! Don't do things other people can see when you first wake up.
I'll have it cleaned up in a jiffy.

Hod cures mental afflictions.
I went for High Magic so I could have Netzach, the Charisma buff.

Blue does work, but only for a few skills. Thoughtstealer is one of them. Should probably work for crow spy too, if it doesn't.

I've never actually seen binah used. How is it cured? How much con does it take off, one?

Two. It was just envoyed to be two, unweighted (racial).

Why would anything like that be unweighted? It's not connected to your race in any way.
On topic, it's pretty much a matter of the trade or, in some cases, the secondary guild skill I want. Just before Hallifax came out, I wanted to switch to Lowmagic to get Poisons, as I wanted Ecology as Bard.
Netzach is nice to have if it makes a difference (depending on what buffs you get from your guild already).
I've always liked invisibility, so Yesod is nice if you don't get it from any other skill.
Overall, I consider Greatpentagram more useful than Serpent.
I've never found the impact of either skillset too great, though, aside from their transcendant skills.
Esano2010-02-02 12:52:07
It was made unweighted for balance reasons, so that it always gave the intended -2 con rather than only giving -1 to anyone with more than +1 con. See report 258.
Veyrzhul2010-02-02 14:41:53
Weak reason to circumvent the complete stat system if you ask me, especially with there being very few ways of gaining con buffs at all, so for anyone aside from people with truefavours, this would have been no issue at all. Not that I care alot one way or the other, but it's an envoy spot that could have been used better.
