Darned Tempests!

It doesn't hit people below a certain level (I think it's 25 or something). The person quoted above is 60+, so I'm not sure what happened there.
Lorina2010-01-08 23:44:41
I blame Eventru for these tempests. He won't admit to it, but he broke wind in Celest. That's why these things are soo deadly poisonous....Quite a fart.
Nymerya2010-01-09 01:45:19
...I wish I knew why people said stuff like that. =/

I would say that this is an example of bad luck, then.

They have a life-leech attack. If this cycles a few times in a row, they will look darned-near invincible. If not, a group tears through them extremely quickly (assuming a group of demi+, I guess, with high crit rates)

Most people fighting them are not demigods, so we had several people doing less damage than they were "healing" on the tempests, or so it would seem.

At any rate, I like them. They're fun. smile.gif

Org territory counts, too, yes.

To clarify, you will conglutinate in your prime org territory or nexus world (it used to include ethereal forests, but AFAIK never included elemental/cosmic and so was stripped from ethereal) even if you do not possess the Planar ability, similar to village revolts. And I think it's even less essence/xp loss than a normal conglut.
Ileein2010-01-09 06:37:56
I think it includes when you're standing at your nexus on the higher planes, too, except maybe Astral. Might be wrong there.

I took a wrong turn and in less than a second... Bam:

The air about you turns suddenly stale and acrid before whipping into a furious tempest, each breath of wind burning the flesh on your extremities.

11K? In less than a second? IN A CITY? Dear Lord, admins, what's with the grudge against Celest?
Ssaliss2010-01-09 17:41:32
Y'know, it's not just Celest that has these things... The admins must have a grudge against us all sad.gif Let us bring them an offering in order to appease them! Anyone volunteer?
Lawliet2010-01-09 17:48:47
Has mag been hit by them?
Ardmore2010-01-09 18:09:51
You know, these tempests grow in power as you fight them, so I can only assume that is one that your city failed (big surprise) to kill, and it has grown so powerful it does ridiculous damage.

Maybe the admins will say that, seeing as it's stronger than a Smob, they'll remove it?

Heh, what am I saying? They'll probably put it at the pool tongue.gif

Maybe you should ask for help instead of asking the admin to intervene.

Who will they ask? Hallifax ("No, you can't have my gems!")? Magnagora ("We're going to do the Spire, please don't hit us.")? Glomdoring ("I want a Domoth, so I'll help your enemies!")? Gaudiguch ("Oh my toast, it's Vathael!")? Serenwilde ("...")?

That is not why it was stripped from Ethereal.

You are able to have guards at the nexus on Cosmic / Elemental. You also conglutinate at the nexus on Cosmic / Elemental.

Ethereal once allowed us to have guards in every room (org territory). So, when it was made so that we could not move guards from the Nexus, that was done by making the rest of it "not org territory" (so the guards would not move). The conglutination part of it was, as far as I'm aware, an unintended consequence.

The Ethereal Nexus is still org territory though, and still conglut at it.

No. Because so many interfered in the progress to stop Zenos, it was decided that Zenos should be contained to the park in New Celest. And the tempests there are designed to be unkillable.

But yeah, the mob in the gardens is unbeatable. Only a quest will get rid of it. Figured that out after trying to staff it and it did 7k in a round...Oh dear gods. I wish I knew what to do about this quest, but I can't find anyone who knows sad.gif
Kiradawea2010-01-10 02:13:18
Tytone has been telling everyone at the pool what to do, and there's been several announcements on CT for people to help, but we should finally be done. Only waiting for the last mob respawns.
