New guard type

New guard type: bardic, mage/druid, whichever. Imbue it into the ground to disable divinefire and aegis. Make guards work against demigods and help curb epeen stroking.

Please and thank you.

I'd love to see one who can yank someone out of ghost/dreamweaver. Either that or actually attack them.

That's what distort is for.

See the person who posted above you? He's your enemy, not the entirety of Prime Celest. Now go away until guards work on demigods. tongue.gif

How about guards are just unkillable and do 10,000 damage?

Because there are legitimate, high-risk methods to killing guards that shouldn't be turned off.

You go back to getting griefed now.

No, you're talking to the person that swears up and down he doesn't do anything, and fve minutes later starts raiding villages for lulz. He's like that kid who sticks their hands in fire, and wonders why it burns them.

Is it anything like the kid who pushes the bully's little brother and runs away when the bully comes back for revenge?

Do you think that kid would recognize himself if he were looking in the mirror?

What are you talking about? Eye sigil doesn't affect ghosts at all and it only stops dreamweavers from using a few skills.
Atellus2010-01-18 23:39:07
Why are you worried about demigods? It's not like the entire active raiding player base is made up of demigods.
Razenth2010-01-18 23:42:16
When Glom was kicking Celest ass back in May or so, I'd have disputed that.

I see what you did there.

... unless you were actually being serious.

Are the guardian thingies that protectors/security able to summon useful?

Maybe they could receive an ability to nullify divine fire or something cool.

If I had my way only the top X (10?) ranked players would be demigods. These days I am surprised when I find someone is NOT a demi, which seems rather backwards.

I could see how game mechanics that were balanced in a world with a mix of demis and nondemis could use updating over time as the demigod population grows (as it naturally will with a static exp curve, minor death penalties, and time).

I am not an active combatant at the moment so I have no real comment on if this specific fix is needed or good.

Usually demi burnout will ameliorate that but with the influx of aether-demis maybe that's not happening as much.
