Let manses be connected directly to each other, or give manses an aetherdock of their own please! Or make it an artifact
Lendren2010-12-21 11:56:10
An aethership with its own aetherdock would cause all kinds of problems. I suppose you could have an artifact to make a manse that wasn't an aethership have a dock (and then preclude it becoming an aethership), but then how do we add it to the aetherspace maps? Where would it go?
What would be much simpler and which has been proposed in various forms is an artifact, skill, or item that let you create a "portal" between manses similar to weaving a rift. But it's never been done so I assume there's a concern with the idea that precludes it.

That would be great actually, also the ability to tesseract from your manse to prime.

Hmm. Are there any other cases where you can tesseract or teleport to someone but they're not able to do it to you? Because being able to tesseract into manses would create all kinds of problems.

I've actually been pondering something similar; the ability to transform an aethermanse into an aethercity, making it possible to house other manses. This would make it impossible to make it an aethership though. The way it would work would be to make archways in certain directions in both the aethermanse and the aethercity, that would create a normal exit (so you'd be able to get from aethermanse to aethercity just like you walk from one area to the other (permissions permitting; if you didn't have permissions to enter the aethercity or aethermanse, you'd simply be either kicked out a'la Newton or simply be unable to walk in that direction). The aethermanse would have to be docked though in order to go to/from it (in case it's an aethership), possibly even having it have to be docked at the aetherplex.

No idea if anyone's suggested this here but there should be a 20 minute wait between switching characters in Lusternia. Would cut down on the metagaming.
Poor Shaddus would never be able to play all of his alts, then. Only so many hours in a day!

So the aetherships would automatically connect back when they dock at the 'plex? What happens if they dock at a city or commune, etc.
Personally, I would really like to see hangars and small ships, but that seems unlikely to happen.

Well, it depends on how far they want to go. Personally I'd be fine with allowing aetherships docked at communes be connected to the aetherplex, but if you see the connection as physical instead of aetherical, it wouldn't work logically.

I don't really like rules that are impossible to enforce. If it was by which account your character was registered to, you could just use different emails. If it was by IP you could use a proxy/tunnel/cloak.
It would only harm the people who were doing it for harmless reasons.

Here's an idea: ban shrines on aetherbubbles. Fight your own fights!

But what about my dream to put a Jadice shrine on Frosticia if she ever exists? I hope she ever exists. Siiiiigh.

Hm, what I've been doing is build the homes myself, give permissions to each room to the specific people so they could set it up description wise, and what not, and go further from there. But what I'm guessing you mean something like you enter one room, part of the city, and separate manses are connected to certain rooms in the manse, each manse is magical in the sense that it could be constructed in whatever way it wants? The problem I would see is the rooms overlapping each other, but I don't know. I think it would be easier to have a manse created, set permissions in a certain room so that people themselves could build the room as they want, add a room here, in this direction or that, or set up doors. The ownership would be on that certain manse by itself, independent of the person that owns everything. Is what I'm saying making sense?
@Saran
As for the Hanger idea, I was thinking something a bit different, where you have this 'mother ship' and in that mother ship you have 5, 6 smaller ships inside. When under attack that ship would send out those ships that are inside out through aetherspace to attack the target and then come back.
please?

How do you mean, overlapping eachother? Lusternia doesn't keep track of where the room is really; after all, you can create an infinite loop where you can walk up from a room and arrive in the same room through the down-exit.

Can we purdy please have the ability to summon dirigibles back? Waiting for them to reset is a super big bother.

If it's in your room say "Dock" and it will move into your hands.

This is the biggest benefit to having delivery on a pet, over a dirigible. Having to wait for reset or slog the whole way across prime is harsh.
Lilia2010-12-22 01:40:43
I'm confused. I've seen dirigibles give something, then leave the room right after. Where do they go, if they don't come back to the owner?

They go back but do not follow. If you don't have equilibrium to trigger ORDER DIRIGIBLE FOLLOW ME, or don't have the trigger line, they will stay there as you walk off. I left mine in the UV plenty of times, even with the trigger.

I triggered mine to follow me, I hated having to drop it each time. It obeys all the loyal commands, including attack.
