Instead of sending a new message every time something decays, maybe send them slightly more periodically, and just compile it in one large message?
Xiel2011-01-12 02:22:28
Just as the admin have the adminmessage pop up whenever players first initially log in, can organizations (cities/communes, guilds, orders) be able to get something like that so that they might post up recurring reminders about credit sales or other announcements pertinent to the org without spamming the newsboards?
Dandy messages when we log in about year-long announcements like guild credit sales or commune culture ideas would be useful, I'd think. I know Aetolia and Achaea have this, and if people don't want to constantly see it, add a CONFIG option for it.

Since there's more or less a whole Aethernetwork setup throughout the Basin, I'd love to see a "world" channel, as I see it useful for the following.
* Random communications between Denziens, just to add some RP. Maybe somebody in Delport talks to somebody in Estlebar. Yeah, it's kind of redundant but it might be fun to hear some random stuff like that.
* General communications, which would be good for events or allied orgs.
* Polite intra-org conversation.
* Event specific stuff, like hearing the Gnafia propoganda during events.

Kind of going on the post above, can we have some game wide effects or events that draw more attention to the aether network being what it is, instead of just a 'chat-network' per se? I was thinking something like garbled transmissions during bubble-flares, afflictions that cause you to get weird transmissions. (ie: somebody got their wires crosses )

Customizable entrance/exits for demis. PLEASE. We can customize pet entrance/exits, can customize zap, why not do so for entrance/exit? It's just lame when you're prancing around like everyone else! I know it'd make extra work for the admins and therefore more expensive, but I'd totally do it.

I would adore this. And totally shell out (a reasonable amount of) extra essence for it, because I'm a total fruitcake.

Ditto. After I got the second tradeskill, of course... Accursed 70 million essence takes ages to get.

Add new Arena Conditions such as:
All participants will receive a buff/debuff where health/mana/ego is set, skills are reduced to certain levels in a minimun of gifted to transcendant, artifacts are disabled, kill count, kill the priest, etc.
- The first two ideas allow everyone in the middle ground where system, internet speed, group work and use of skills are the deciding factor of the winner.

That's an idea more for the World/Arena Game thread, but other games already have something along these lines, called Balance of Power. Of course, being an artie whore myself, I'm not a big fan of leveling the playing field in the arena. I prefer a slightly more realistic environment for my practice.

It is sad that if there is a beast we no longer want or cannot afford to upkeep their fees or even if we have too many beasts, that if we want to get rid of some we would have to kill them or let them starve. For this reason I have the following idea:
Make a stable command to STABLE RELEASE/DISPOSE which will release the beast you are selecting into the wild. One would also have to AGREE to this after they put in the command.
The person would have to be at the stable the beast is in to do the command.
The message of the beast could look something like: You untie from the stables and release them into the wild.
This cannot be done for pets, also concerning beasts with collars, the player would not get the collar back (or maybe even make it that beasts with collars cant be released).

You can give / sell them to someone else, too.
Ixion2011-01-13 14:09:15
Really? I let mine starve for good measure! (About as close to undead as you can make a hippogriff )

Yeah but people arent always looking for beasts, and selling beasts isnt all that common sadly. Also you cant sell beasts created in the -mancy skills (Pyromancy, Geomancy, etc.)
Also lets not forget collared beasts that cant be sold or die.

A collar is a 250 credit artifact. You're not going to put it on a beast that you don't actually want.
Unknown2011-01-13 19:44:34
I have a collar on a beast I don't want. He was a regular animal, converted to a beast, and now I have a custom beast. Still, it does me no harm to just ignore him, except that my 250 credits sit there wasted now.

Simple yet really good idea.
News Post revoke. Allow a person to revoke a news post within 5 minutes if they make a mistake. Once the time has past, the news post is permanent. This would prevent all the mistakes and "scribe punishments" that occur.
ETA: This may not be simple depending on the code, but I have a feeling this could be very useful.
PS--I posted THIS in the wrong forum thread!
