why should I be charged some 15k gold (anything I make perma is a brooch in items of jewelry) for a minor mistake like this. Being able to switch things around should not destroy the rune or the item.

Easy. charge item;remove rune;attach rune to another item; recharge item; rince; repeat. There are probably other issues as well that I can't think of off the top of my head.

You said destroy the item, I figured this meant I would have to make a new item just because I removed a rune from it.

Yes... Detach the rune, and the item it was attached to goes poof.

Oh, and the above can also be expanded to keg runes, only that it would be far more severe (given the recent change to how they work). Why not make sure you attach the rune to the right item from the start? And if you change your mind later, destroying the item it's attached to isn't that big a deal anyway.

You could also attach a rune to an item on decay ticks and then move it back to what you're actually using, although that's rather extreme. Really, though, unless you're a warrior or a monk there's no point arguing that you have a need to move runes, really. Attach it to the right type of item, and the most you'll ever pay to have it on what you want is 50cr for a customization.

Yes, but I don't buy enchantments from shops. All of my enchantments at some point will be all custom designs I have made for myself and myself only. and the fact that I refuse to wear rings for enchantments doesn't help. attaching the wrong rune to a brooch just makes me have to spend an extra 50 credits to make it right...

but anyways,

my idea:

can we have manse permission for race?

PERFORM END

Because losing a power performance because you need to switch influence types is not fun.

EDIT: On a related note, why IS that a power move?

I'm unsure if this has been mentioned before, but. Let like, high up order members title too? Same way as letting high ranking city officials title, eh? They'd only be able to title people in the order, which might be a bit silly, but, eh.

Only if high ranking(GM and CL?) city folks can marry people.
Shulamit2011-02-11 22:36:40
*shrug* I don't see an issue with that. A civil marriage! Yay! It would be like what me and fiance will eventually have in rl.

Shameless plug my good lady, shameless plug. That said, congratulations on your engagement. I have no idea when the deed occured.

Marriage privs for Minister of Culture. Not that I want to perform weddings, but the CL has enough to worry about and some people want secular marriages. I'll take it for the team.

If the MoC gets it, the CL does too. The only thing I can think of that a minister can do that the CL can't is related to the ledger artifact, because it requires that item.

Can withdraw from ministry accounts, too. Don't think the CL can do that.

I remember withdrawing from the Ambassador account, and I was only on the council. I know Sadie did the same thing when she was CL. Don't think there's restrictions on it(beyond having a minister or council position).
Unknown2011-02-12 07:37:09
There are only a few ministry accounts that can be withdrawn from at all. I'm not totally sure Culture is one of them, but I vaguely remember them not being able to.
Esano2011-02-12 07:39:13
Only the Ambassador and Trade can be withdrawn from.

What if racial balance penalties had less of an effect than the bonuses? So while a bonus is 7% faster per level, if a penalty was 4% slower per level instead of 7%, the slower races would probably become good. The noble tae'dae would be 12% slower instead of 21% slower, a slight upgrade from their previous state of 15% slower which was considered too slow to begin with.
