Similar to how librarians or editors can edit books to correct typos, punctuation, etc. before submission for review, allow the Minister of Cultural Affairs to correct the minor errors and typos that inevitably creep into live stage recordings.

Some form of list for keeping track of jewelry slots, I can never keep track of what I have free.

Don't know how possible this is, but it'd be cool if bookbinders could make books without setting them for someone, and put them in shops, so when someone needed a book, they could just go buy book, and the act of buying it would set it to them.

Or an easier way to price sorcelglasses, because unless I'm missing something, they are annoying to price in shops. Also. Doublepost. Lame.

While that would make producing plays very very easy, it very much flies in the face of what theater is.

I understand that theatre is inherently 'live', and as such mistakes and improvisations happen, I just wince a little when you get something like

I've asked for something like this before, and Lendren has heroically stepped in to tell us how silly it would be to allow it, because it would be sooo unrealistic. tongue.gif

Personally, I consider Lusternian plays to be more like movies than stage productions. Watching Contraption, for instance, you get a very definite movie vibe, and the tools of the stage give directors every freedom to treat a production that way. Regardless of what theatre is, in real life or Lusternia, I firmly believe directors should have as much opportunity to control the quality of the production as we can give them. Why allow the process to be any more discouraging or frustrating than it needs to be?
Lendren2011-06-28 16:14:48
I don't mean to be being "heroic," I just think that if you take away the chance of screwing up in front of an audience, and the challenge of dealing with it when you do, you are gutting most of what makes producing plays exciting. No one has suffered this frustration more than I have; my magnum opus (Winter's Gloom) had to be done three times because the screw-ups were too painful to be borne, and every time I look at Nifilhema's Tear I start getting all George Lucas about it and wanting to "fix" it. I have the urge at least as much as you guys and probably more. But I really think that if we got what you're asking for, we'd regret it. Theater would become clean, tidy, easy, and a tenth as rewarding. You'd lose most of that rush you feel when the play finally works.

Generate gmcp coordinates for manses with fulcrux room being 36,0,0,0
Unknown2011-06-30 18:14:12
The thing is, those coordinates only come from areas that are actually mapped by someone through the game's mapping engine. Manses are not mapped, and they probably never will be mapped, so you can't get coordinates.

Couldn't another method be added then specifically for manses? I'm not talking about mapping them the regular way, but just auto-generating x,y,z values relative to the fulcrux room so that we at least have that to work with.
Ssaliss2011-06-30 18:36:58
How will you generate the numbers for a manse that has a fulcrux that connects north to a room that connects north to the fulcrux?

You're right. I forgot how paradoxical manses can be. Damn it all. Such a headache.

Channel history, please.

Channel history and config colour for messages.

A retell command (works like reply, but for the last person you sent a tell to, instead of the last person to send you a tell.)

Uh, no, please. That would promote AFK-ing, IMO. Poke someone to make you a chatbox or something if you need it.

I have access to a chatbox, thanks, and no. Most people don't use channel history to AFK. They use it to glance back and see a brief history of what people have been talking about. If you want to keep people from AFKing, trust me, the way's not to ban channel history, as it has a negligible effect at most.
Unknown2011-07-04 02:57:44
People who are going to afk are going to afk regardless of whether or not channel history exists. How is this more of a promotion than tell history? CH is useful for people who want to find out what was said on a channel before they logged on, or to go back and glance at if they are mid-spam. While all IREs require a certain amount of scripting prowess, channel capture doesn't have to be one of them.
