Again.

Can we have a HERMIT command that makes you not show up on CW/GW/QW/FW/CLW/NEWBIEWHO/CGW/WHO/The websites/WHO HERE?

Sometimes I just wanna lurk the family channels without getting mobbed by people complaining about Celest stuff.

That's called a Gem of Cloaking. It's very expensive, and only does half of what you are asking for. What you are essentially asking for is a protocol IG that turns Lusternia literally into nothing but a colorful chat room. There are, well, chat rooms for that.

The other solution is come2seren, so you don't have to deal with Celest stuff tongue.gif .

Give aeromages the ability to not let winds sweep their words away. They are Aeromages

And give maybe a very expensive ability that lets a person drink a said vial (made by alchemists of course) but becomes at an expense a bit more easily hypnotic, allowing them to take commands or for guild rites in Gaudiguch.

Allow the TEACH command to take a numerical argument like the LEARN command does, ie. TEACH NEWGUY 15 RITUALS

Please? For the newbies?

Only if it is nonforceable and the Newbie has to confirm that they wish to learn the lessons, also nonforceable.

I find hiding in a manse helps with at least some of this, at least in the short term.

Along the same lines, Aeonics should include a low-level skill that tells you precisely what time it is, the same way READ WATCH does. Yes, I realize I'm undercutting my own business, but if you've been an artisan in the last few game-years, you know the answer to that has to be pained laughter anyway.

Hmm. The helpfile says 50k in home city, 100k off-prime and 250k on prime. I've always lost 50k when phoenixing off-prime though, I just confused off-prime cost with home-territory cost.

EDIT: That's all for phoenixing though, of course. Deaths have always been an additional 50k for me.

The mortal threads of your being severed, you scream in agony as the Divine spark within you enfolds your body with scorching flames.
The Vault of Heaven.
With outstretched arms, an enormous statue of Estarra stands here vigilantly.
You see a single exit leading down.
The burning flames swirl around you, weaving the broken and frayed threads of your life into a seamless whole, restoring you painfully to life as you gasp loudly for breath.

So... that's 100k essence lost for phoenix off-prime, even with conglutination?
Esano2010-09-21 22:15:07
Without conglut, any off-prime phoenix would supposedly count as an on-prime phoenix, costing you 250k.

QUOTE ("HELP DEMIGOD")
- REBIRTH OF THE PHOENIX
-- Divine resurrection in the safety of the Divine Havens when
they die. Upon death, the syntax is PHOENIX to resurrect.
This power drains considerable essence from the Demigod.
If the demigod uses Phoenix to trigger the resurrection
without sufficient essence to afford it he will be stripped
of divinity and become mortal once again.
-- If you die, it will cost you 50,000 essence to resurrect in
your city, 100,000 to resurrect off the Prime Material Plane
and 250,000 to resurrect on the Prime Material Plane.

Razenth2010-09-21 23:47:05
Now the question is, can we find a Demigod WITHOUT conglut?

Sure; just skillflex it away and then back after the test.

I could do it without the lesson cost if you catch me right before the weaving and I haven't used my free skillflex yet -- but now that essence is actually valuable stuff again, I'm not willing to take the death in the name of science unless someone's going to reimburse me in some form (like esteemed items -- 100,000 of my essence is the equivalent of 13 and a third needles offered by a member of my cult), because, frankly, I'm not interested enough in the science of it to be worth the loss.

Current TEACH requires an OK prompt, just like LEARN does. Only difference is that the teacher enters all the variables, rather than the newbie.

Nothing suggests this at all. It was just assumed that all demis would have conglut anyway so phoenix was already lessened off prime.
Furien2010-09-22 10:35:08
Test servers are handy.

With conglut, on Ethereal, pre-death: Essence: 1338385
With conglut, on Ethereal, post: Essence: 1188385
Looks like 150k - I derped and didn't count the essence loss on death like I did for the next test.

Without conglut:
Pre-death: 1188385
On-death: 1138385 <- 50k loss on death
Phoenix: 888385 <- 250k from phoenix
Ssaliss2010-09-22 10:55:33
So basically, it's a feature that's not documented anywhere at all? Wonderful.

You are very welcome, I am very much a classical music and opera junky. I spend a lot of my OOC time perusing concerts and traveling to bigger cities. I dream of going to a live performance by either of two of my favorite conductors Seiji Owara or Vladimir Ashkenazy.

I would likewise suggest, Variations on a Theme by Paganini, by Brahms, Opus 35, or, if you like opera, I suggest Maki Mori someone I have recently come to really enjoy.

I am glad to be of help, do hit me up if you would like to chat about, or discuss, such things.

Isn't it Seiji Ozawa? (小沢征爾) I just saw him on the news last week I think... talking about his comeback or semi-comeback. The poor guy had his whole esophagus removed due to cancer... He was only able to conduct for a short period of time. If you got any money saved up to see him, now is a good chance to do that...

I was so happy to have seen Compay Segundo before he passed away here in Japan... The greats of the previous generations are disappearing....

Would it be feasible to allow a little more customization in ship personalities? Say, the ability to program a particular message for things that are already preset, rather than having lines chosen randomly from a list?

Yeah... Specific messages for locking, unlocking and slivvens would be wonderful. I always found it odd that Ilosia would say "Glory be to Glomdoring" or "Nocht be praised" whenever a slivven appeared...

Odd? Nonsense. It's an opportunity to demonstrate our superiority in everything, including the slaying of parasites.

(I love Ilosia's tenacious zeal)

Pleeasee.. Pleeease give us a way to summon dirigibles back sad.gif I keep losing mine and then I have to wait an hour to get it back.
