I think it's pretty clear that the admin aren't interested in slowing down the path to Demigod or they'd have done it already.

The game is called 'age of ascension'

Because it was in response to what you said...

This just in: Aetherhunting needs venoms.
Think about it. Some beasts cause a venom that slowly degrades the hull, and only a certain skill rank of Empath can use it. Another type uses a venom that lowers the max hull strength until cured. Another might cause a sort of recklessness.

And I was talking about me, and you responded to me with a comment that sounded like it was directed to me, MC Crazy Pants.

The combateers get something like that but it's only for ship for ship, random malfunctions, slowing the ship, etc.

The main issue at hand is a stupid issue.
I told you all 5 years ago that if you let experience run rampant that you would end up with 50+ demigods in no time at all. Everyone cried about how you should be able to get demigod easier, that it should not be so hard to get. Nothing was done to curb it, now we have... 50+ demigods and people are crying about it.
The door was left open so long that it has burst off the hinges with the influx of players stampeding to demigod and closing the door now is just a slap in the face to players who will now get shut out.
With this game revolving more and more around the demigod players there is no reason anymore to make it harder.
If you wanted to fix experience you should have done it way back when you all were crying about losing experience for deaths and not getting enough experience doing other things and how hard it was to get to demigod. Not after you have opened Pandora's Box.

Been saying that for 4-5 years too... Case in point, we have a 21 year old demigod. Seriously...?

This just in: Double Exp Thursdays for the month of February!
Easy experience is something to be celebrated. There's nothing more depressing than realizing that you've hunted for 1000 hours but have lived ~200 000 hours, not all of them awake.

I don't think I ever cried about this, and 4 years ago I was probably one of the biggest deaths due to my druid kamikaze runs + Wisp...I never really cared, I took it all in stride and just accepted that I balanced out in the end. (Then they nerfed pvp xp...)

One change to aetherspace I think would be nice is if they removed the hidden creatures from
poping up. Having to run away from the long range attacks involves increased creatures which
eventually leads to swarms of creatures with lots of long range. It's hard to keep up with the long
range as it is but in a swarm it's impossible to finish off a group unless that's intentional.

So you're one of the ones who leaves the swarm around Faethorn for us to destroy, eh?
As Rika says, it's definitely not impossible to kill the swarms. Otherwise there would be millions around Faethorn right now (and that's not much of an exaggeration either).
Shryke2010-01-26 23:37:19
I hate whoever leaves those damned swarms >.<
Rodngar2010-01-26 23:46:24
The big culprits of the swarm's source are people trying to blow each other up. A specific three or four people, actually. :/
Zallafar2010-01-27 08:40:41
So how come I couldn't target the gorgogs? Is it really true that gorgogs (or whatever) can hit you from further away than you can target?
CODE
turret target creature gorgogs
A swarm of gorgogs twists about itself in the aether, creating a churning sheet of aetheric energy that flies out towards Caldera. Upon impact, the aethership shudders and screeches in pain as a concussive shock rips through the hull.

No such creature is close enough for a battle turret to get a targeting lock.
