Can we please make it so when you see through an illusion (due to high Arts or the like) that you see -who- cast it?
"Your artistic eye spots the flaws in what is obviously an illusion cast by BLAH."
There's way too many people who have the ability to cast stupid illusions and get away with it due to a lack of any way of figuring out who it is.

I agree with this wholeheartedly

I agree with this.

I agree, you should have to declare to make people see illusions you cast.

That... would kill all RP use for illusions. No.
Seeing who cast them is fine, though.

The RP aspect is just a convenient sideeffect of Illusion's main use. I don't think anyone will suddenly lose their deep RP immersion when they check pk declarations and see that Bob is screwing with them.

It actually doesn't show that in PK declarations, all it shows is who you declared. So, yeah, declaring people to show them RP illusions isn't actually going to ruin any immersion (you could also theoretically turn Avenger off while doing the RP thing so you auto-declare everyone when doing the illusions).
But at the very least it should give the name of the person doing it in the line you notice it's an illusion.
It should also not print out lines for every person who enters the room in terms of programmed illusions. Wtf spam.

So (not being a smart ass here. I'm intrigued.) if I have suspect on someone with illusions and they declare me to use an illusion, would your idea make it to where said illusion counts as an attack for vengeance?

Think so, just like astrology spheres.
Shaddus2010-01-20 04:14:11
I'm all for this, so long as that makes programmed illusions autodeclare before they effect you.
You would also see an issue with people walking in and out of a room to stack vengeances repeatedly though.

Believe that falls under the clause of 'don't be dumb and let it get that bad'.
