Tarot is also more a Mag thing, with their whole history of being Prophets and all.
So the scientists do not like "dabbling" in prophecy and only trust reliable sciences?

More a comment against people going "Tarot is sooooooo Gaudiguch". Maggy, mag, mag!

It might have Magnagoran roots, but it's an art from the Fatalists. Celest sure doesn't object to the Fates.

Not so much that it's Gaudi(I can't remember anyone really stating it) but more it's the one that makes the most sense for Hallifax to lose because of the resulting distribution of tertiaries.
I can also see Gaudi declaring Astrology boring after spending time trying to do calculations for spheres and all.
Then Hallifax looking at the symbolism of the cards and debating endlessly about what effects should result from them then passing them off as illogical because their research determined that they should have different effects.

I'm trying to say something (and it's getting lost in tiredness and frustration at the actions of someone), it's not been said directly. Astrology is a Lucidian science, as we've known, and as said here, because they discovered it but astrology has the same ability to be delightfully fun and difficult to interpret as Tarot does. If we're going to go based off what was "discovered", well, Tarot doesn't seem to fall too, too much in line with Gaudi, but Magnagora in their history of being prophets, while Healing would be Celest, etc. I think I'm lost in a ramble, but it's bugging me I can't be clear.

This made me chuckle, thank you.

Well, for me at least when I started thinking about what options the hallifax guardians would have I was trying to think if they would get hexes or healing but neither really stood out.
So I started thinking about Gaudis options, which kept flicking between hexes and healing still until I considered that they might not get Astrology (yes because of where it came from and all that) which then lead to the thought that Hallifax might not get tarot not for any reason greater than the distribution as it would mean the terts would be available to three guilds each. Nothing really about where tarot came from, just distribution

I really can't wait for Halli guardians. Astro just looks really awesome

It is, and complicated unless you use the AstrologyThingyMaboby
edit: hrm, could someone send me a stargaze with a retrograde planet in it? Looking through the code it is set up to handle that but I need a copy of the string to actually finish it off.

Yeah, just noticed a tendency to get really confused with them atleast at the beginning

If Guardians 'need' Aeon from Tarot (and Soulless), I'm sure that when designed, if Tarot-less Hallifaxian Guardians are the case, they will gain a unique way to deal out such things. If not, an envoy can rally for it after it demonstrated that the class would need it.

mmm Emerald sphere of Chronological Paradigm... well the chrono bit... maybe... kinda
Razenth2010-01-27 08:36:00
We don't need aeon at all. We just need Soulless. Not sure about Nihi, but with sacrifice being all the rage, I'm not sure they have time to throw in an aeon.

everyones like zomg no aeon. I haven't fought as a guardian before so nfi, I was just grabbing the sphere names and went "oooo" mmmm Quantized Equilibrium
EDIT: Sorry Jade, forgot about Temporal Existence
Alodia2010-02-01 01:13:39
Which brings me back to my ancient plea.. Healing ought to get an Instakill!
Anyway, from what I understand, Hallifax people would not appreciate the "Mystic" quality of Tarot, being used at times as an Esoteric Art of Divination, while Gaudiguch would would love the thrill of this art but would bore themselves with the science of Astrology, that and it's origins.
Just my opinion though...

Who else is better fit for an uber-aeon than the two cities just popped back into time?
Razenth2010-02-01 03:51:14
Halli guardians should have a 2/3 ego 2/3 mana kill where they weaken your will until you agree with them when they show you a proof that you do not exist.
Doman2010-02-01 03:58:16
That was my idea!
