To be honest, Hallifax's power quest is prohibitively tedious.
It's not difficult, to be honest, however the fact that you have to make a run after every sphere reminds me -way- too much of Celest's beacon quest.
So, I have this suggestion.
Change it so the generator shifts in a predictable way, and if you do it from start to finish, so you end at the color you started on, you have used every joule in the grid.
The main reason behind this is because every other power quest i know of is spammable ( I don't know gaudi's, so correct me if I'm wrong.), as in you do every step in a single place (Besides hunting or finding), and people -hate- our quest because it takes so many steps AND a help file to do for the colors.

Gaudiguch's power quest is easy.
The tedium of Hallifax's far outweighs the slight extra boost in power gain.

Yep. Great in concept, annoying in practice.
Doman2010-01-31 04:11:07
It's obviously taken from the flowers part of the hand quest, but I can do that in advance depending on what color I'm on, and then just turn them all in at once
Unknown2010-01-31 04:22:29
Yeah last I saw the generator was at like 900 spheres. If the Necromentate had been brought back the day Halli opened it would probably be fully spiked by now.
Genos2010-01-31 04:34:31
I can't even imagine how much Hallifax will be pounded in the ground if conflict quests are released. I doubt they would be able to empower the primary generator faster than the damage done to it.
Doman2010-01-31 05:08:27
I know for a fact all of Hallifax agrees with me.

We can barely keep up with the natural decay :\\
Well, we could but... aahhh there are so many more rewarding activities to be pursued.

I was just going to suggest this too! Please please pretty please implement this! I never want to do spheres again after doing 150 of them when Hallifax first came out. How I survived, i'll never know...
Oh, and as a side note: The flowers you collect for the Hand quest have a predictable pattern so why can't the Primary Generator?

Though I suggested earlier that if the admin want to retain the random, just letting us get the predicted spheres would make it easier.
Maybe like...
touch panel
The crystal panel glows faintly at your touch, complex formulae streaming across its surface for a moment before words flare brightly stating that the predicted requirements for the generator will be: Sable, Vermilion, Celadon, Saffron, Alabaster, Chartreuse, Heliotope, Lavender, Ecru, Alabaster.
It's a bit more complicated to code, but the other side is that it would not reduce the random chance or complication, it would just let you run out of spheres fasther.

Saran, yours doesn't fix the problem with not using all the joules, and would barely fix the tedium

Doman, create a pattern that will use all the joules before they decay and for fun, uses all of the spheres at least once. The only issues I have really had with it is just running up and down all the time if I could look at something and say... "Alright, I can do this, Wait for the respawn and then continue on to do these" it saves me time.
If you managed to create a pattern that actually did use all of the spheres (which seems awkward given the usage of black spheres) you average like 12.25 spheres an hour.
Ayden2010-01-31 06:21:37
I really don't care if it uses all of the spheres. I just want there to be a predictable pattern so we know what to expect. Funny how the city of logic has a very random Primary Generator. You'd think that the original constructors would put a pattern in!

Obviously the pattern is either so long that it appears random or it constantly adjusts to the power requirements of the city to make sure everything is in balance.

I also don't like it when the Generator needs spheres that uses up more reds than there are per cycle but not using any blue, etc. It wastes the other colors.

You can have three full rounds at one time
