Stargate Mafia

Back to The Real World.

Flavour skill that doesn't do anything helpful at all? Yeaaaaaaaaah.

Vote: Ileein

He really seemed off to me, the way he kept pushing for Tekora no matter what. His reasoning has always been incredibly poor, and I've got too thorough a scummy vibe from him.

I have been sort of around, I just don't post during night and have been caught up in project presentation preparations for the past few days (deadline season, ugh).. Plus there doesn't seem to be any progress so far in terms of analysis. Has Eldanien been replaced? He's confirmed that he's killed Rika, in which case our roleblocker might want to look more closely into his or her target last night, given that there was no scum kill. Either that, or we have our doctor to thank.

Additionally, it's probably not a good idea to assume that the scum did miss their cue last night. We do have replacements in the wings, and anyone as crucial as the last one or two scum (assuming there's no cult) would have been replaced before that happened.

That said, I'll claim now, since I have nothing worth hiding. I'm Jay Felger as previously mentioned during the nameclaim, and I'm a vanilla townie. Apparently I have a model of the Stargate, but it doesn't do anything as far as I know - so unless it holds up nights without my knowing, last night certainly wasn't my fault!

Unvote: Silferras

Well, let's try this then.

The Lost Boys. Mason group? Cult? Another Mafia? At this point, I'm assuming that there's two of you here. If you're Pro-town, then there's no real reason why you two couldn't out yourselves right? So that's what I'd like to see. Let's have the Lost Boys step forward so we can eliminate them as X-factors and try to narrow down the field of suspects here...

It does do something, but only when it has power. Which it doesn't (at the moment).

I apologize if I'm giving off a scummy vibe; this is my first mafia game in years. It's not intentional or significant.
Unknown2010-03-24 13:45:58
No one actually intends to give off scummy vibes - yes, not even scum. tongue.gif

I'm aware of this.
Unknown2010-03-24 16:33:57
So, who's left who hasn't name claimed?
Riluna2010-03-24 19:13:53
Pleased to meet you all. I'm very excited because this is my first mafia game, although I appear to be at a very big disadvantage, since everybody knows exactly who I am.

After re-reading the thread, I'm sorry, but I don't think I have any new insight as to who our scum are, that hasn't already been said. I was planning to make a long post analyzing the night kills, but it really doesn't add anything other than what Tekora said about it. I'm leaning toward inactivity rather than roleblockers. I'm confused about the value of an investigator in this game, however, since a lot of those who have turned up dead appear to be working for somebody else. An investigation result (if there is one) wouldn't turn up much. Even an "innocent" result isn't reliable because of that.

There's a couple other things right now. One, we're looking for other groups, either masons or scum. (Masons aren't typically scum, right?)

QUOTE (Gleip)
I'm Teyla. And I might have an ally here... we got seperated before this incident so I'm not sure if he made it.

Please explain?

Also, this has been bugging me, although I'm not sure about it:
QUOTE (Ileen)
Sorry, all I've got (beyond some basics, I guess) is oriented to systems and mechanics. Thus the diagnostic.

This implies, to me anyway, that you have more than a datapad. Care to elaborate?

Just that my role is that of an engineer on the earth-ship Daedalus. My only power is the datapad 'analyze key systems' thing.

If we're going for inactives I'd be inclined to target Vendetta, whose posts are all basically either "-twiddle thumbs-" or "Should I assess?".

Why we want moore name claims is beyond me when there are so many SG characters that it'd be easy to fakenameclaim.

No denying that there, heh. I've always had trouble with feeling out a good time or motive to target someone, and in this game I've had the added complication of never really falling into a groove and having most of my interest killed off with the first major wave of inactivity.

You might say that, but you can just as well ask, "Why not?". All it takes is a someone typing at most, twenty some characters, and is even easier to read.

But with those things out of the way:

Gleip pointed out Ileein's flavour skill as a point against him. My skill, which is all I have, is of approximately the same function and value from what can be discerned from afar.

We have at least two groups that are not just for the humans. How many remaining people are likely mafia?

And finally, if either Ileein or I are lynched, and we do not turn up scum, would any of you feel this implies something about the other of us?

It well might, though I concede that I am not certain that mostly-plot-related skills have much bearing on scum-ness.
Unknown2010-03-26 04:03:40
Since no one has posted anything of the sort, I'm going to assume that our investigator hasn't found any leads so far (keep on going!) and that our roleblocker doesn't think that it's worth speaking up about their targets. In which case, I'm quite willing to Vote: Ileein for now based on the unvoting I quoted previously, and what I can recall of his previous voting patterns. I'll check out more of the latter once I get home and see if my suspicions of the latter are as well-founded as I think they are.

Don't worry. You can't be a worse vig than what we've had so far. Anyway, I'll elaborate for you. And while we're at it, I might as well give a full claim, as I think it can clarify a few things.

My name is Teyla Emmagan. Athosian from the First Atlantis Reconnaissance Team (terrible acronym). As I've tried to hint at earlier, I'm posing as a Wraith Queen, but since I've not received any contact from any other Wraiths, I'm thinking that there is no Wraith team to oppose the humans. I used that statement to hint at the ally I might have here, but it seems pretty clear that he's not here. So, without an ally, I can't do much but beat up whomever we decide to lynch.
Riluna2010-03-27 01:56:05
Yeah. It's really hard to get a read on anybody when nobody's posting. Hrm. Well of all the cases so far, I'm most inclined to agree with the case against Ileein. We're pretty positive that Tekora's town, which makes the pressure noted by Gleip that much more suspicious, in my mind anyway.

@Silferras. Did you find anything out about those previous voting habits?

Until we get better options, vote: Ileein

Er, I'm not going to bandwagon, but I probably won't have much of a chance to post in-depth again until tomorrow. So, Vote: Silferras.

Yeah, my diagnostic is useless while my tablet's out of juice. Pity, it was a nice thing to have.

I'm going to go ahead and Vote: Tekora in response to all of the debate here. I went back and read the thread again, and wow, some of those posts did look pretty scummy.

QUOTE (Ileein @ Mar 18 2010, 07:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Oh dear I'm on my own Unvote. I don't hate you that much, Tekora, I promise. sad.gif

I might have missed a couple of votes (26 pages argh, feel free to ferret out more), but here are the posts I managed to find. Interestingly, he's always hopped on someone else's train except in the very last case, where he quickly backed out after realising he was the only one voting for Tekora. No explicit explanation why he was voting most of the time, except, again, his last vote against Tekora where "some of those posts did look pretty scummy" - and even then, no explanation why he unvoted except "I don't hate you that much."

One other sort-of point in his favour is that he did vote for Shaddus once. Hmm.
Gleip2010-03-27 02:42:17
That vote in particular was right in the middle of other nonsense-votes on Shaddus. If you see, Arix voted for Shaddus too back then. I'm getting more and more convinced that Ileein is scum.
Riluna2010-03-27 06:12:52
Yeah, thx muchly for that little series there. My vote definitely stands. Where is everybody else?
Unknown2010-03-27 06:20:53
I sort of lost motivation a while back. I've been suspicious of Ileein for a while, though.

Vote Ileein
Ileein2010-03-27 12:27:52
I should reiterate that I'm an innocent civilian (or else have a role that only the mod knows, of course). Full roleclaim it is.

My name is Lindsey Novak, and I am an engineer on the earth ship Daedalus. I'm not sure what happened, really, but I'm going to keep doing what I'm skilled at. Once a day, I can assess key systems, which might do something and might do nothing, depending on the situation.
