QUOTE (Vendetta Morendo @ Feb 21 2010, 06:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm managing to constantly be devoid of ideas. Perhaps we all ought to step back a moment and ASSESS THE SITUATION.

Is that a power? *eye*
Ileein2010-02-21 05:41:06
I would assume so. Hopefully it'll do something interesting!

And by interesting I mean "that doesn't kill us!"
Unknown2010-02-21 08:33:36
Vendetta Morendo exhales. "Perhaps we all ought to step back a moment." He starts pacing within the room, gesturing as he thinks aloud.
"From what we've seen of the keypad, this place was not built by a race we usually interact with, but their level of sophistication matches or exceeds Earth's. We're in a room of unknown purpose with this device of unknown design here and an open door there. At this point, it seems no one here is willing or able to figure out what the device does. We don't know what's beyond this room. We don't have anyone here willing to talk. Now, we can probably figure out these two problems sooner than we can figure out the device.
"So! I propose we do one or both of the following. One, we send someone into the hallway to--ahem--assess the danger. Two, we start talking and get a better picture of what's going on.
"That said," says Vendetta, "Anyone willing to jump in?"
Silence.
Vendetta crosses his arms. "Well, our third option is to leave things as they are and wait for whatever supplies we have between us to run out."

((Why no, there isn't any food or water in the room with the ominously glowing device.))
Rika2010-02-21 09:01:09
So... that did nothing. tongue.gif
Unknown2010-02-21 10:08:48
Yep.

Let's just all starve to death.
Kiradawea2010-02-21 10:34:22
Hmm, let me consider that.

Nope, no wanting to starve here.

I still consider Reiha to be suspicious for wanting to throw in Shaddus that quickly. She's usually far more subtle. And that's when she is a good guy. My vote stays.
Riluna2010-02-21 19:05:46
Um, not really here, so don't mind me....
but is it going to take you guys 20+ pages to get to Night 1 again?
Ileein2010-02-21 19:43:48
Probably. sad.gif
Unknown2010-02-21 19:48:21
Well, sorry! I tried my best, but sometimes you simply can't piece together much more than what you can immediately observe. Chasing errant tangents with unconfirmed or insufficient data has never been a strong point of mine. It makes me uncomfortable.

Having said that, Kiradawea, would it be possible for you to site references to support your hypothesis?
Kiradawea2010-02-21 23:28:01
Remember the situation when our path was opened? We discussed sending someone ahead to investigate. Shaddus volunteered, but before anything happened, we got this message.

QUOTE (Xikue @ Feb 17 2010, 01:58 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
((Yes, whoever's lynched is getting pushed into the hallway without a flashlight. Don't get eaten by a gr--I mean. happy.gif Votes must be bolded to count.))

Essentially clarifying that whomever we send into the hallway will suffer the same consequences as a lynch. Now, look at Reiha's response.

QUOTE (Reiha @ Feb 17 2010, 02:03 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Unvote Solanis.

Vote Shaddus

He volunteered.

Reiha immediately begins to vote for Shaddus on the purpose of lynching him, on the basis that "he volunteered". Everyone knows that voting for someone to throw into the hallway could end badly for the one thrown into the hallway at this point. But the vote managed halfway to gather the intended effect. If we'd been fewer, that would have been a lynch, as in a snap, Shaddus was halfway through the required votes.

Later on, she gives us this.

QUOTE (Reiha @ Feb 19 2010, 03:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Unvote

Since it's getting nowhere.

After being called out on her behaviour.

QUOTE (Reiha @ Feb 20 2010, 04:03 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Eh, thought I unvoted.

And if I was scum, I'd be more subtle about it.

Then there's the final point that I'll present. That, ladies and gentlemen, and Gleip, and aliens, is a "Wine in front of me" argument. Basically, an argument based around trying to outwit and figure out the behaviour of someone, based on how they "would" act, given certain information and roles. Reiha says that she'd not act that way if she was scum, unless she is scum and is purposefully acting that way to appear innocent, unless she is innocent and she would be more subtle as a scum ad infinitum. It's considered a decent scum-tell within mafia circles.
Reiha2010-02-22 02:45:38
I hate situations where it takes 20+ pages to get to night. It's a pet peeve of mine in mafia games. And it looks like it did get the ball rolling, although I didn't think too far ahead to consider I'd be next.

If you want stupid reasoning...

...that's the actual sequence of posts. FOS: Reiha, Ileein, Arix

^Xavius's list of events in sequence.

There was some sort of rule that the third person to jump on a voting bandwagon was safely scum, so:

Unvote, Vote: Arix

I'd vote for Ileein, too, but they're likely just joking. Still not dismiss-able, at any rate.

...you were the third person who jumped on my bandwagon!
Arix2010-02-22 03:37:27
How bout you come up with an actual reason for voting instead of following someone else and using unproven rules, hmm?

That was an OMGUS, though! Pure coincidence.

Your being dead would be plenty of proof.
Furien2010-02-22 03:47:43
Also, did anyone else notice we went back in time
Tekora2010-02-22 03:53:22
We did? When did that happen?
Furien2010-02-22 03:56:02
When we went through the wormhole! It sent us into the past. That would explain a lot, actually: when you get sent through time (usually because of a solar flare in the nanoseconds in which the dimensional bridge is open) you end up in the same physical location you were headed to, even if the Stargate is no longer there. We're lucky to be alive; but it also means that wherever we are, this place is important.

Also, uh, I just came into this whole deal knowing that A. My equipment is missing for the moment and B. The wormhole sent us into the past.
Reiha2010-02-22 03:58:27
I believe Furien oddly enough.

Although...

Maybe it's because we're on page 9/10 it feels like we're stuck in the past.
Reiha2010-02-22 04:03:17
I don't know if this does anything or if it was gibberish... but...

Nraelsnamuhesehtlliwnehw

Probably just gjibberish with my luck
