Hey, Shuyin once asked me when the Sents would get opened. True story.

Like I said already, even our bards lack an instakill.
Finale is the usual bard instantkill, yes.
You will also notice that opera works a bit different, as some have already noted. Most of the songs in the skillset have several either passive or active effects. In the skillist you will further see abilities like duetto, tertietto and quartetto, these will allow bards to team up with others and 'unlock' the passive or active abilities of songs as they are performed. There are some in haven who are not really sold on this idea, since they feel it will make the bards overpowered in group combat and underpowered in 1 vs 1. As such, we thought we'd get your ideas.
I'm afraid I can't give you the full ab files because they haven't been written yet, but I can perhaps clarify some of the skills after I have had my morning блин blin and водка.

I'd rather just stick with the tried and true, to be honest. Aeromancy sucks enough for me not to want to take the risk.

Your mention of Russian foodstuffs doesn't lend credibility to the obvious spoof you've concocted to con us all.
Feel the shame, sir.
Elostian2010-02-17 09:35:39
I am very disappointed that you would think that I would spoof anyone. After all, it isn't april!
Siam2010-02-17 09:37:20
Spoof or not, that's one tempting skillset.

Hey, just in case that actually is the working draft, kill it. The biggest problem with both the bard and monk specs is that, after giving people a handful of skills, the mechanics then step in and tell people all the ways they can't use them. Finding new and creative ways to tell players that they can't use their skills is bad form. It stifles player creativity and leads to balance situations that make both the user and the victim unhappy. The user feels weak because they can't use the good stuff when they need to. The victim feels weak because they can't do enough about the good stuff.

A good point. We may need to halt production and redesign this skillset, Elo. Unfortunately, it sounds like we won't be able to get this guild out until mid-summer at the earliest.
Elostian2010-02-17 18:55:46
By George, he's right... we should remove all Bards and Monks guilds.

Both.
I dislike your silly little cantors. You can keep them.
And your little dog too.
