I've always been under the impression that the Trill are more the "aeromancer" sort, and the Lucidians the researchers or whatever they'll be.
I mean, it makes thematic sense given the two elders involved. Otherwise, it's less a partnership, and more "It's about the Lucidians, and their random bird people friends."
In that respect, the ability spam represents the Trillilial (sp) from the histories very well!

My personal thought was that Lucidians would make better Mages while the Trill would be more Bard-y, seeing as Mages tend to be scholarly while Trill are more artsy. I'd also think Lucidians would make good... whatever the Guardian class is going to be called, seeing as it's based on Order.

Aeromancers are part of a city where emotional control is expected, these abilities would be used at times when they are going into battle and so it seems wrong that they would be laughing with delight at the prospect. Yes, they might laugh with delight some times, but rarely when these abilities would be in use.

It seems highly likely to me now that trills did develop most, if not all, aeromancy techniques. Come to think of it, they're more likely to be at home with manipulating air - given that they are shards of Trilillial. Don't quote me on this, but I vaguely recall reading somewhere that aeromantic engineering was developed mostly by trills, too. Also, Lucidians are more likely to be the ones who developed the cosmic specializations of Researchers given that the spheres in Continuum all reinforce 'the adherence to laws' belief of Hallifax. Halliguardian's cosmic spec might be something that revolves around such principle - and Lucidians are more likely to understand/ be at home with such thing. If we base it from the histories of the Elder Wars, it was mentioned (i think in the first ones, prolly Mug's or Tae's book) that it was a mystery how Trilillial and Xyl's relationship came to be since they were seemingly very different from each other. It was also mentioned that both Isune and Trilillial were artists, and if we look at the trill's development of aeromancy techniques, it could be considered that they deemed aeromancy as an art form and it could explain why aeromancy has no instakill(because trilillial seemed like a pacifist to me) and trills who developed aeromancy would prolly not consider killing as part of their art.
