So I knew this was coming, the aetherspace changes and it is rather a good idea especially to deal with afkers. The slivvens are kinda hard, meaning most likely under level 70-80 or so couldn't handle them very well because of the afflictions. Room Aeon was pretty annoying to say the least.

The one extreme complaint I have is I just put 100 credits into aethercraft and in the middle of a hunt.. poof.. all the vortexes disappeared and we weren't able to make another one. I'm confused/upset.. Please could we clear this up for me.. also a thread for suggestions and thoughts on Aetherspace Changes.

I recall that the spawn rate of vortexes was lowered several times when people mentioned there was too many of them. But there was too many because they went untouched and were building up for years. Now there's none. ):

I completely agree this is a touch annoying.. I understand they don't want to make it a cake walk but making it impossible is just a little too far..

Instead of lowering the spawn rate of vortexes, there should have just been a RL monthly purge of them. This way they would build up again over the month, but there would never really be the thousands of them that we had. Now... we have 0 and due to spawn rate changes can't produce 1.

They all just vanished, and none are spawning, this has made aetherspace worse than what it was originally. Woo, Awesome, way for me to have a transed skill that is now pointless to have!

I think you all need to calm down. Obviously this is annoying, but it's fixable. Instead of bitching, try asking "hey can we get the spawn rate of vortexes put back up?" Your skills are not worthless, they just need to adjust things.

I like the idea of slivvens, for a regular crew and a regular ship. My concern, is that for Serenwilde, where we can barely muster an aetherhunting crew on a good day (and half of the crewmembers are usually circle 50-75 or so), this will be yet another thing that keeps us from flying.

I feel the exact same way. Up to middle of Mythical now and now i feel like i just spent real life money on something completly useless.. much rage..

Something I've noticed with vortexes that makes a monthly purge bad...

... is that vortexes spawn at the level that spawns karibideans. They seem to slowly accrue power over time the longer they're around (we had one a week or so ago with over 3,000 power in it prior to getting the first karib). We spawned a vortex the other day, I decided to try siphoning it, second siphon got us a karibidean.

If you're purging them, you're never going to have vortexes that don't have karibs. And the vortexes will likely collapse pretty quickly, too.

Really? I get the opposite vibe from my experience. Some of the random vortices on Prime for example. There is no possible way those have been siphoned hardcore by aetherhunters and a lot of them are ancient. And some of them have spit out karibs for me twice in a row.

Also: Water. Freaking Water. Half of those vortices had karibs last time I hit that place. And they can't ALL have been siphoned out. Same with the ancient vortex thing.

Really. Unless they spawn with a completely random amount of power and some of them can spawn with 3k+ power in them, they have to be getting some power over time.

We've placed a decay rate on vortexes so overtime, if they aren't cleared, they'll decay on thier own. I'm not sure why they would all "poof" at once so there could be a bug. We'll look into it.

I am just going to assume it is a stage/unfortunate side-effect in the fix aetherspace coding they are doing, and not a permanent thing.

Can you make sure that they do spawn with a semi-decent amount of power in them then, please?

And if you're going to do that, can you push the spawn rate on them back up a bit? People were suggesting a decay on them before and you turned the spawn rate down instead. ):

Ok,

I love the slivven thing. It's fun to run around the ship, and adds another element to ship design- making it so whoever is clearing can get to things efficiently.

You really only need one person running around killing the things. They aren't aggro, so you don't have to worry about weaker crew members getting in trouble.

The vortex thing is more of a blech though.
