Ok,

I love the slivven thing. It's fun to run around the ship, and adds another element to ship design- making it so whoever is clearing can get to things efficiently.

You really only need one person running around killing the things. They aren't aggro, so you don't have to worry about weaker crew members getting in trouble.

The vortex thing is more of a blech though.

so are they the same xp to the person running around as the rest of ahunting is to the people locked in?

Also do they drop gold

Chair slivven + roomwide aeon = OMGWTF

Yeah, do not agree with you on that.

So I knew this was coming, the aetherspace changes and it is rather a good idea especially to deal with afkers. The slivvens are kinda hard, meaning most likely under level 70-80 or so couldn't handle them very well because of the afflictions. Room Aeon was pretty annoying to say the least.

The one extreme complaint I have is I just put 100 credits into aethercraft and in the middle of a hunt.. poof.. all the vortexes disappeared and we weren't able to make another one. I'm confused/upset.. Please could we clear this up for me.. also a thread for suggestions and thoughts on Aetherspace Changes.

Well consider that the other two methods of getting experience (hunting and influencing) require trans levels at least one skill group before you can even enjoy experience that is on par of an aetherhunt. You also don't need to consume power, buy weaponry/armour/enchants, or take much risk. Really aetherhunting was kind of ill-conceived from the beginning and simply too good to be true. I'm just surprised that things have gone on as long as they have.

The person running around can be locked in until the message of an infestation comes up, then zip around. The best thing to do is what Ixchilgal did on his ship. Change your design so all modules are close by and you don't have to worry about people getting confused on where to go to kill these things. Design your ships now with the mindset of "you want people getting to and killing these things ASAP"

When you've spent half of what I've spent on my ship for weapons/armour/enchants, you come see me about the cost of things.

Now, I admit this doesn't apply to everyone - my ship levels up a lot of people. But for those unlucky few who paid...all I'm saying is I don't feel all that bad that I got demi from aetherspace.

Probably not for the first part, and definitely no on the second.

But I love them because it's fun, not for reward reasons.

As for the aeon... yeah, that's bad for the person in the module. Make sure they sip quicksilver beforehand. It's not like they'll aeon until they're attacked by the person clearing it either.

Yeah you do not need to buy weaponry armour and enchants, In fact they should give armour and weaponry for free like they gave those aetherships for free.

Well I was addressing Asin's concern that she had invested so much into the Aethercraft skill. You're talking about something else altogether. Aetherspace experience should be good (and it is) because you need an expensive ship and a large crew to go hunting together. I disagree with the implication that because you spent money you're somehow entitled to free experience because Lusternia should not be about who is wealthy and bought the most credits.

...yes it is. All the IRE games are. They let you play for free to con you into spending huge amounts of money on shiny things so you can be better than the guy across the city that you've never met.

And if you do meet him? You'll PK his derier. Because he licked someone you don't like.
Asin2010-02-20 05:39:09
No no no. I don't think that Rael.. I just think I expected one thing and they suddenly changed it up into another out of the blue. But to be honest and look at the real point of view of things, this game was made for these people to make money and if we're buying things from them and we get something less than we expected we have every right to state our concerns and complaints about bad service. Just like you would with any business.

Edit: And to clarify it IS all about the people who spend the MONEY. Because they (meaing IRE) want more money. That's the way things work, and if I spend for example $500 on credits/artis I DO expect things to easier/better for me than someone who spent absolutly nothing.

Funny as that is, yeah. I believe what Asin is saying is this: Imagine if you bought runes for your weapons so it would be easier/faster to hunt, and then they changed it to where the stats from your runes no longer help in hunting. Wouldn't you be a bit pissed?
Rael2010-02-20 05:57:06
Ok you have a point.

@Asin: I am still unhappy that I spent money to specifically get conglutinate in planar. One day the powers that be changed it for some skill that I never use and don't even know the name of without offering me the option for a refund. However when you create your character and agree to the terms of service you basically waive away your rights. Technically I don't think you even own your items (IRE just licenses them to you) so it was consensual. You are entitled to complain so I support your right to exercise your voice. I believe that things like education (and maybe mudding tongue.gif) should be more affordable and complain a lot even though things probably won't change. Malarious, myself and at least a couple people protested and although nothing come of it, at least I threw it out there.

You know that a change is making people unhappy when Anyania can't even muster an 'ahahaha'.

@Ixchilgal: sad.gif

But we've digressed and should get back on topic.

EDIT: I also missed out on the mugwump eq bonus pre-nerf and Axelord knockdown stuns. Not sure if that is that is really the same thing though.
Asin2010-02-20 06:02:12
And to make another small point to Rael, it is about those who spent the most especially if you look at all the people who are amazing at combat: Vathael, Shuyin, Fillin/Ceren, etc. They spent a lot of money and that's why they are the best (along with some common sense of course happy.gif).
Razenth2010-02-20 06:03:04
Ceren is the exception. I believe. He's just amazing.

I really don't know if I should be flattered or scared or 'ummm???' that you've mentioned my name.
Xavius2010-02-20 06:16:44
You know, while you're waiting for vortex spawns, you could do it the old fashioned way.
Asin2010-02-20 06:19:48
I am happy.gif I don't mind the old fashioned way at all. Almost more fulfilling then sitting around for hours.

Yeah, we did that. We found a creature every oh 20-30 moves.
