The mortal design review system has been running for some time now. As far as we're concerned, it's been pretty successful and we've been pleased by the turnover of designs as well as quality assurance. I'd like to touch base for feedback to see if your experience matches ours. So let us know what you think or if you have ideas for improvement!

I give it four thumbs up. I've had minimal problems with it, and those were quickly resolved.

The system.

My submission slots are beginning to outnumber my creativity... So, I guess that's a good thing. They all get approved super-fast, too (or rejected).
Unknown2010-03-14 02:41:54
I'm not a reviewer, but I've been seeing more designs lately that don't use hyphens on adjectives where they should, like "crimson-hued" or "double-sided."
For reference.
For reference.

Here's a question I've been wondering;
Let's say I have a few designs up. If I announce something simple on the market like "Designs up", would that be frowned upon, trying to get random mortal reviewers to check them?

From a completely uninvolved bystander's point of view, it would seem like that is the kind of thing that does not belong on market. It has nothing to do with buying / selling.

I think that'd be unnecessary...these people are getting paid to review, so I think there's already a pretty good incentive for them to keep the queue low.
This is a bit different from asking people to join an arena queue, which, while not selling or buying, seems appropriate for market because otherwise nobody would ever join a queue...

They have asked people not to ask on market for spars and the like.
Though admittedly I have not heard it recently.

I love the mortal review program; I submit things at 3am and by the time I log on the next morning they've been approved or rejected!
Though one of my designs was just randomly flagged as needing divine review, which confuses me.

If a design mentions a divine (or includes their symbol/visage) it has to be flagged for divine review, and then the Charites approve or reject it (if it is the latter, they have to hunt down the divine in question and speak with them, have them review it, etc).
Also if a trademaster resubmits a rejected design without a change and just arguing the reason for the rejection, it is flagged.
Probably one of those two.

I don't think it was either - the design in question didn't have a divine symbol of any kind as far as I'm aware (unless leaves are a divine symbol). It was a first-round rejection for a valid reason, which I fixed.
Now that it's back in the queue the big red flag seems to have disappeared, though.

Since mortal reviewers aren't supposed to know who submitted designs, that would indeed be frowned upon!
Kharaen2010-03-15 00:04:44
Reviewers are somewhat quick with even my designs, and they always have something iffy with them. So, two thumbs up.

Can't said reviewers just check to see the trademaster of the cartel to see who submitted it?

I have to imagine that the cartel name is blacked out, along with the Designed By name if the field is used.

I would take this to mean that reviewers can't see anything identifying, so they probably can't check.
