With the posting of Announce 1532 (READNEWS ANNOUNCE 1532), I figured we might as well get a thread going where we can post our questions for Est to answer.
My question:
1. Are there any writers/authors/pieces of fiction (fantasy/sci-fi) that helped you with the creation of Lusternia? I've noticed that a few of the cultural aspects of the game mirror the style of Mercedes Lackey, especially the Glomdoring quest involving the ritualists and whatnot.

I've often judged a person's intelligence by the competence in his or her native language.

Leave me alone
Dear Estarra,
Are there any future plans for the firstaid system? Standardized cure messages? (You have cured X.) Config options for the use of focus mind/spirit/clot?
Ever think about Lusternia novels? You know we'd all buy them!

Why do you choose not to release damage formulas to the players? "It would break immersion" seems a little silly when we can already see exact DMP values and such.

Seconded, I'm mighty curious about this myself. There are already people minmaxing their stats anyways due to Demigod or quests or whathaveyou, so immersion is effectively ruined anyways.

1) Has there ever been anything in Lusternia you wish you hadn't released/done in hindsight?
2) Where do you see Lusternia in two years, and what do you think you'll have accomplished?
3) Will mortals ever have chocolate? >.>

Pretty sure Gilligan had chocolate, the candy leprechaun. Like half his gold was actual chocolate coins or something.

We've gone above the basin, below the basin and all through the planes and the spaces inbetween. Do you ever see us going outside the basin? I'm very curious about what lies beyond.

When I saw this I was sure it'd be a snarky sarcastic thread by a peeved off player, was all 'quick! Click on it before it's deleted!'
When was the last time you had to manually intefere with something a player was doing because it was so gosh darned naughty, and how did you feel about it?
Does anyone actually read the ideas people submit? If so, how many are actually worth while and implemented?
How much wood could a wood-chuck-chuck if a would-chuck could chuck wood?

I'd like to point out that we should not lose sight of the fact that Estarra is a she.
That said:
Are there plans to bring back Ackleberry? And if so, how do you see that commune fitting in with the current commune dynamics?

I think I can jump on the latter part of this one, at least - hints are that it would be introduced with Jojobo, a jungle outside the basin. They would be antagonists.
Gleip2010-03-27 02:18:43
From what I gather, it seems that Ackleberry would end up initially antagonistic towards Serenwilde, Glomdoring, Magnagora, Jojobo and maybe Celest. And neutral at best with Hallifax and Gaudiguch.
Poor org is gonna end up all alone.
Also, I'm curious. What qualities does Estarra find most important in the Divine she picks?

Isn't Mount Dio effectively outside the Basin?

Where'd your inspiration for Vortex come from?

Related to this:
How did the world of Lusternia came to be? I remember reading somewhere that you created a campaign setting back in high school or something. Would you tell us more about this old campaign setting and such? (big tabletop rpg fan)

So far we've seen a great number of Gods in the Elder Wars journals, but will any of the journals be written from the perspective of one of the Traitors? Are there any new Gods we haven't seen yet? Will we get more books from the time of the Vernal wars? (I really enjoyed the Tamthys's Journal)

The bodies in her basement.

I think you'd be better off posing a few (or all) of them in a video and submitting it!
