I was thinking of a Romertien/Shiri team-up, actually, and I was inclined to vote for Romertien. Now that Dugan's taken over Romertien, I don't think I'll be able to check for in/consistencies anymore.
Well, seeing as Tekora hammered Gleip.

And... He never changed it when we started looking for real reasons to vote. So, I voted for him.
Just noticed this. That's actually blatantly false, because before the train, Gleip voted for Tekora (and unlike everyone else provided a good reason. There's a reason why I keep returning to that train).
Which makes me suspect. Romertien didn't have a vote for him when the train begun, yet jumped in when the train was losing speed. Why? Either Tekora or Romertien, those are the ones I'm considering right now.

Sure, about as suspect as actually calling for someone to hammer him before he could use his ability.
lol, I was legitimately asking "are we going to wait?" not "hey, lets hammer him before he can" - (why would I say that honestly)
I dont see how you could get those two mixed up.
So are you saying I forced you to hammer him before he could use his vig?
Unknown2010-04-20 22:12:48
Also, why would we not want him to vig D1 if his lynching was going to be inevitable?
It seems to me that the lynching of the day-vig D1 without him even using his power was an extremely favorable outcome for the scum.
And today its "lets lynch the bodyguard"! Hurf durf indeed

Actually, giving it a second thought, I guess I'll unvote for the time being.
Saran2010-04-21 07:36:29
myeah, problem is that Bali is always like this... remember that time he freaked out and tried to kill the cop(seriously I told him his role and he still tried to kill me) when the scum was oh so obvious.
I'm going to vote: Tekora though look curiously at Shiri who asked for someone to step forward about roleblocking Tekora and I can't remember seeing anything from him since regarding that.
If we consider a three-man team, Shiri, Tekora and Shulamit could provide cover for each other quite nicely.
Shiri claims to redirect Tekora to himself, Shulamit claims to block Tekora when in actuality Tekora simly does not use his power that night and Shulamit either does not or blocks someone else.

hum... any pairing of those three still works if Tekora did not perform the night action.
Kiradawea2010-04-21 09:44:51
Well, yeah it could be possible, but I'm more partial to Romertien being scum (due to his position in the train and his reasoning) than Shulamit. I'm not getting the huge scumvibes from Shiri, which, when I think about it is odd, because I almost always find him suspicious.
But Tekora, I'm very certain about. You just don't hammer someone without letting them defend themselves.

Well, as you can see below, their posts are two minutes apart, and I was interested in checking for the consistency in the time difference of their posts as the game progressed. Aside from the timing, Shiri has been quiet, which is odd for me since in the last game I was in, Shiri was much more active in leading the town, and was keen to apply pressure when necessary, or when he felt like it, at least. As I recall, he was also against voting no lynch in that game, I remembered this because of the no lynch talk on day 1. I'll check as soon as this post is done to see something else during the first day's votes.
QUOTE (Shiri @ Apr 12 2010, 09:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I redirected Tekora back at himself. He didn't die. This can mean:
1. Tekora is innocent and telling the truth about not targetting anyone
2. Ileein interfered
3. Vendetta interfered
4. Bali interfered
5. Arix interfered
6. Shulamit interfered
There are reasons we might allow someone to not report (for example, Xavius keeping his power secret from the scum so they don't know how much of a threat he is at any given stage), but they're not really good enough compared to our ability to figure out exactly who did what and make the scum commit to specific lies and make it much easier to catch them out. You first since you're here, Xavius!
For obvious reasons I'm gonna hold off on re-voting Tekora unless one of the above people admits to having interfered, then I'll figure out what to do from there. Then I'm gonna go over the Gleip train progression from yesterday.

That being said, I still think Gleip is our best bet. Shiri could be a dangerous scum, too, but I'm more concerned with the scum-vibes coming from Gleip.

Just remember never to assume that the scum always vote.
There's little reason to if the town is well on their way to lynching one of their own.

Even though that's true, Romertien was the one who helped the train pick up speed, and Tekora placed the hammering vote. While I don't like most of those votes on Gleip, those two stand out as the worst.

Aye! Thanks for pointing that out. I must have missed it and Ileen's vote since I was looking for Romertien/Shiri connections earlier and forgot to include them later on since they were out of my mind. Also, Ileen voted before Romertien asked for a vote count. When I think back now, it seems Romertien was keen to get Gleip lynched. Romertien, like many of us during day 1, were skeptical(for lack of a better word) with Gleip's vote on me. Also, if you look back, Gleip explained himself in two posts prior to Romertien asking for a vote count and subsequently voted for him, and whether or not Gleip's explanation got disregarded - I'm not sure. But Romertien does come across to me as either an excited townie keen on lynching someone agressive who, to Romertien, must have been enough of a scum vibe to disregard any further explanation, or a scum keen on furthering the pressure on an agressive townie.
As for Tekora, he comes across as an agressive player who clashed with another agressive player who made a day 1 vote that is not based on scum vibes, but rather, a means to speed up the day. Him hammering Gleip comes across to me as another agressive player who believes that the other aggressive player's aggression is a sign of something fishy.
Aside from what I've written above, we should also weigh the risks involved in letting them, or anyone for that matter, live or get lynched.
Romertien getting lynched and comes up as town:
-we lose a watcher
-we lose a townie, of course
Romertien getting lynched and comes up as scum:
-we get rid of a scum
-we need to look further into day one and day two to see signs of a connivance with another person
BUT we also need to take note that Dugan has replaced Romertien, and any further inquiries risk being inconsistent given that they're two different people. This does not mean we cannot judge Romertien based on her deeds during day 1.
Tekora getting lynched and comes up as town:
-we lose a town night killer
-we lose a townie, of course
Tekora getting lynched and comes up as scum:
-we get rid of a scum
-we need to look further into day one and day two to see signs of a connivance with another person
Okay, so I believe I'm done with my Romertien/Tekora views. I'll let my vote stay in Tekora while the vote count stands at 4-4. I may change my vote depending on developments/insight from any of you.
I'm looking into the others now.
Unknown2010-04-21 16:21:52
Romertien would arguably be more valuable since we already lost our tracker, and Tekora's judgments for his night action will inevitably draw a lot of attention to him for anything short of a successful scum kill, so even if we don't lynch him now, if trends continue as they have then more and more people will start seeing scum when they look at him.
But I don't think that's really fair. We're all power roles, and most of us arguably have something to offer town. You can't really point a finger at someone and say "omg, he wanted our day-vig dead and now he wants our tracker/bodyguard/protector/roleblocker gone!" or whatever, because at this point it can apply to the majority of us. From the strict perspective of role, it'd seem like the safest people to lynch are Shiri and I, since we don't add anything, only shift things around, and in my case, more so to protect my own self rather than much of anyone else.
See how that might be an issue?
