So, Vendetta or Siam?
Tekora2010-05-09 12:51:00
First, let's regroup. What powers do we still have available to us?
- Vendetta's Swapping (useless for town)
- Xavius's Copying (risky to use due to Arsonist threat)
- My Night Vig (same)
- Siam's Global Block (Useful, but only if we end up having to go to Night)
- Saran's Protect Doll (Besides Siam's ability, our last protection against the Arsonist)
I have to go to work, but when I get home, I'll map out a full chart of all the possible courses of action we can take from here and their consequences. Gimme about 12 hours.

Let us also review what happened on Night 2.
Tekora2010-05-10 01:05:18
Ok, here we go. Stay with me.
From here, we have 6 options.
Now, in terms of the Arsonist, he can do 3 things tonight.
- Place another Keystone
- Blow the Bombs
- Do nothing.
Our current worst-case scenario is that the Arsonist has placed a Keystone on all three nights so far, and all the people that have had Keystones put on them are still alive. If this is the case, then blowing the bomb tonight after a lynch will bring the player count to 1 Townie and the Arsonist, resulting in a loss. Any other situation involving the Arsonist blowing the bomb tonight, (2 townies + Arsonist, 3 townies + Arsonist and 4 townies + Arsonist) all result in the Arsonist having to spend more nights placing more Keystones in order to kill us, which will take at least 2 nights. So, while the odds are on our side, we want to prevent being blindsided, so assume that the worst-case scenario is our current situation.
The bottom line is this. No matter who we lynch tonight, we need to make sure that the Arsonist does not trigger the bomb. The easiest way to do that is Siam's global block. Forcing Siam to use the Global Block tonight will give us two lynches, including today's, to lynch the Arsonist. Thus, to answer Saran's question, we don't need to make a decision on whether to lynch Vendetta or Siam. We can lynch Vendetta today and then lynch Siam tomorrow. We'll win if one of them is the Arsonist, but if they're not, we run a serious risk come Night 5 when we only have Saran's one-shot Doctor to protect us from the Arsonist. But we can talk about defending ourselves against the Arsonist more tomorrow if it turns out that Vendetta is townie.
So, let's do that. Lynch Vendetta today, Global Block tonight, lynch Siam tomorrow. And like I said, I'll aim my kill at Siam tonight to make sure that he uses the Global Block.
From here, we have 6 options.
CODE
Lynch Xavius - We go into Night with no Researcher. This gives us Vendetta's SWAP, Siam's GLOBAL BLOCK, my NIGHT VIG, and Saran's PROTECTION.
Lynch Siam - We go into Night with no Global Block. This gives us Vendetta's SWAP, Xavius' RESEARCH, my NIGHT VIG, and Saran's PROTECTION.
Lynch Me - We go into Night with no Night Vig. This gives us Vendetta's SWAP, Xavius' RESEARCH, Siam's Global Block, and Saran's PROTECTION.
Lynch Vendetta - We go into Night with no Swapper. This gives us Siam's GLOBAL BLOCK, Xavius' RESEARCH, my NIGHT VIG, and Saran's PROTECTION.
Lynch Saran - We go into Night with no Doctor. This gives us Siam's GLOBAL BLOCK, Xavius' RESEARCH, my NIGHT VIG, and Vendetta's SWAP.
No Lynch - Everyone survives to the Night. This gives us Siam's GLOBAL BLOCK, Xavius' RESEARCH, Saran's PROTECTION, my NIGHT VIG, and Vendetta's SWAP.

Oh right.
Vote: Vendetta

Xavius2010-05-10 01:10:53
I like our odds better with no lynch now, Saran burning the doctor doll tonight, Siam blocking the next night, and me blocking the night after. We wouldn't lose even if the arsonist was both incredibly lucky and incredibly sneaky, and it ends arsonist progression.
To that end, Vote: No lynch
To that end, Vote: No lynch

Xavius, Saran is a doctor, not a Global Blocker. If the Arsonist blows the bomb tonight, he can't protect us all.

He doesn't need to. He doesn't need to successfully protect anyone. With no lynch and a very lucky arsonist, it's still 2-1. Depending on what powers are left after that, that could be a very easy puzzle to figure out.
Tekora2010-05-10 01:25:27
You and I are probably both sitting on a bomb right now. If the Arsonist fires, you and me are probably going down. Not only will that cost us your Researching, it will also cost us my Night Vig, and by extension, our insurance policy on forcing Siam's cooperation in using his Global Lynch. Your plan has a 25% chance of dropping our remaining lynches from 2 or more to only 1. Because of that, it's inferior to my plan, which has a 100% opportunity at giving us 2 chances at a lynch, which will cover the two current major suspects, Vendetta and Siam.
Your plan is risky, mine is safer. But we'll let the others decide.

On the one hand, I don't completely follow how Xavius' plan works. On the other, I'm not too crazy about volunteering to die either. And I have no alternative plans, either. Tough.

You were most likely lying on night 2. If you did use your nightkill powers and Shiri redirected it back at you, you should have died.

Fine, don't move your vote. We don't need it. Also, voting out of your arse for the sole reason of delaying the game and making it go to a deadline doesn't help your case.

Well, give me a reason why there was only one death during night two if you did use your power. You're not answering the issue.

I'll give you three reasons.
- Shulamit roleblocked me like she did on Night 1
- Eldanien protected Arix
- Arix froze himself
Any or all of these could have occurred on Night 2, unfortunately all these people are dead and it's unconfirmable unless someone comes forward with new information.
You would have been able to discern these possibilities for yourself if you had any ability to think for yourself, but no. You have to have it spoon-fed to you, like usual.
Getting really tired of people coming in to play Mafia, having to have their hands held and never thinking for themselves.
Tekora2010-05-11 04:54:59
Oh, Arix could have frozen me too. 4 possibilities. That enough for you?
Siam2010-05-11 08:08:33
I'm wary of my using my global roleblock tonight because of this:
You might want to think twice about insulting people, you know. Or you could also stop thinking you're the best thinker there is the whole world. Just because I didn't say anything much about it does not mean I can't think for myself, thank you very much, I might as well have been wanting to know what you thought of the situation first before I say anything more.
As for your possibilities:
Saran:
Arix:
Shulamit:
This was her last post on day 2. 8 rl days before day 2 ended. Night 2 lasted 3 rl days, as seen above. Because of the large difference between her last post and the end of day 2, and given how long night 2 lasted, I'm more inclined to think that she either failed to do send her night action in or she blocked someone else, but that can't have been the case since no one complained of getting role blocked on day 3, except you. But you didn't exactly -complain-, well, not as much as xavius did when his attempt to copy powers got foiled and to me it only seemed a passing comment, especially when compared to the way you complained of other things that have transpired in the game.
The annoying thing here is that in the excitement that occured in day 3, everyone forgot to ask Shulamit if she did block you. The snag in this scenario is that if you did attempt anything other than a nightkill and claimed failing to do something else during the daytime because of a roleblock, Shulamit could have refuted your claim, that is if she were the one who roleblocked you. But that could also be why you targetted her during night 3, unless you were genuinely doubtful of her being town, which might've arisen from your frustration at getting roleblocked early in the game. Gah. I don't know what to think anymore. Will rest first before doing something about that vote.

Why would you be wary of using your global block because of the threat that the Arsonist may not be planning to start placing Keystones until tonight? My plan will shut down any attempt for them to even get started until 2 more lynches go by.
And I already said that I killed Shulamit because it seemed like she was taking orders from Shiri, in so much as the reason they both blocked me on Night 1 was to make it look to everyone that they WEREN'T working together. It's something that Shiri would have done.
Saran2010-05-11 10:32:53
As far as I can see, I know what Tekora, Xavius and I did last night.
By extension I know that Vendetta did nothing and I have no idea what Siam had done.
If Tekora were the arsonist then at best he has one keystone, though why not just agree not to kill people and lay keystones each night. Plus if Shiri was not lying on the first night and Tekora had attempted to place a keystone he would automatically lose.
Have we any evidence backing up Vendettas night actions?
