On the other hand, there is also the issue of quality over quantity. Some people like to post a ton to make themselves seem active, but they don't always say much
Like that guy whose name rhymes with Harry.
Arix2010-04-07 22:40:47
I usually try not to say anything if I can't say anything helpful, but that tends to lead to me being too quiet, so then I give up and just say whatever I feel like. Also, to Xavius for remembering how Arix is supposed to sound

Self reflecting much huh?

That's all nice and dandy, but if everyone adopts that attitude, we'd never have anyone to pounce on for stepping out of line!
Arix2010-04-07 22:47:11
I have difficulty finding a balance between participation and overparticipation
Gleip2010-04-07 22:56:44
As long as you do one or the other. Both are preferable to non-participation. I have no desire to wait five days because some schmuck didn't bother to send in her night-action. Hence the threath to random divebomb.
Arix2010-04-07 23:01:20
As far as night actions go, most mods will just move on to day after a set period of time

Actually, now that I look at it Balizar was probably joking, since he said "even though he's scum."
But Tekora totally followed you and I can muster no such motivation for him. HMMMMMMM.

No, I wasn't joking, I was dead serious, as evidenced by the perfectly reasonable explanation that I gave and Xavius has already echoed. Lynching someone today is BAD MATH.
Hypothetical question for Shiri and Kiradawea: If you two get me lynched, how do you plan on justifying yourselves when I come up as Not Scum?
Unknown2010-04-08 01:54:07
Probably the same as what was first suggested - they thought you were the most dangerous town to potentially be scum. Which might not necessarily be true, but then, I haven't heard arguments to the contrary otherwise!
If I wasn't so prone to deep sleep, and subsequently only being able to swap every other night, he would have targetted me first, I think. Or that's what his post where he first votes for Tekora implies.

Shiri2010-04-08 02:47:31
That or Gleip, who is still dangerous, despite being less dangerous than hypothetical scum Tekora (note his refusal to explain his statement to the contrary, because it was clearly full of . Let's pay more attention to that!)
That's only if you gave off scum tells though. Like I said, ideally you wouldn't want to lynch off that alone. Nor off who's least useful to the town.
I also want to point out Xavius is missing the huge amount of protection, redirection, jailkeeping, etc. we have, and the fact we can overlap kills so we don't necessarily lose everyone all at once. The fact two of the scum can't both attack and use their night powers is also a huge giveaway since we have a watcher and a tracker and obviously the first thing we will do tomorrow is have everyone claim on who they targetted. Also, yes, we DO want to vig people at night too (if Tekora wasn't scum). I don't know why he is so insistant on the idea that the town can't do anything right and are doomed to failure if we kill anyone or do anything. This game isn't fueled solely by the RNG.

Being as it is my first game and all, I am skittish to, you know, talk to much, and make an ass of myself.
Wait, I'm nervous about that all the time in real life. Bleh.
I am me. I am town. I am a lunar bunnie.
Cake?
I'm still debating the merits of wether or not no lynch is good, I'm trying to read up on some stuff.
I also work the next two days, I won't be around.
Uhm...k. Going off to design books.

So. Inactivity policy. One post per day into the game seems like a decently easy to meet minimum activity guideline, and since I'm nice, you don't even have to necessarily post once every day, just contribute enough to be at or above it. We're now on the 5th day. Do the math.
If anyone wants to be replaced for any reason, please post in the thread or PM me asap so I can take the necessary actions.

'No lynch' seems like a fairly useless vote to me. Is there any reason it wouldn't be?
Saran2010-04-08 06:21:55
It may be just me, but I am immediately curious about people who vote for no lynches and try to make everyone else look sus.
Unknown2010-04-08 10:23:49
Solanis has asked to be replaced. The role of Satori is now available to Sylphas (Edit: Riluna's busy), should he care to take it up! Just start posting in the thread if so, or let me know if otherwise.
Mirami2010-04-08 16:05:58
I, too, am suspicious of this no-lynch train. This is smalltown, we can start eliminating people that would be awful for scum to have.
Also, Silferras, your votecount has Xavius voting twice.
UNVOTE
While we wait for somebody to do something stupid.

As i said before, my no lynch vote is a placeholder, until someone starts being actively scummy. Having said that, I am suspicious of Gleip, he seems rather unstable and I am uncomfortable with him continuing to live
Sylphas2010-04-08 19:24:27
Have been following along, but I'll reread this all to freshen up and post again in a bit.
Shulamit2010-04-08 20:10:39
Reading through, and it still makes me nervous to vote, but I guess that would be for the best, since after all, right now, I'm not sure who's evil and who's not, other than what statistics tells me might be true.
I still don't want to vote for no lynch though. Doesn't seem good.
As for voting policy. I will not be here rest of today, or tommorrow. I'll try and post after tommorrow more (and I'll try and post before work tommorrow, but I likely won't be able to)
