^I'd like that as well, please. Making things easier for coding is better with actual level lines.

Why do Aeonics users get a room message when aeon actually sticks and no one else, to my knowledge, does? Using waning I just have to use an educated guess about whether I only stripped speed or actually stuck aeon. Nothing huge as long as I can see them sipping, but I'm definitely jealous.

Because it's... aeonics?
That seems a pretty clear answer!

I would prefer insanity not show the levels in the afflictions. It's easy enough to figure out how much you have anyways, and it shows what level you are at when you cure. It's not like warrior afflictions say "you are at heavy wounds" when you get hit (unless we want to start adding that in too so nobody has to guess at anything anymore), you have to make educated guesses.
What I would like though is a way for paradigmatics users to see how insane their target is.
Discern, Assess, Contemplate, Sleepsense... we need psychological assessment.

Shouldn't that skill where you quiz them on their sanity... tell you their sanity?

You would think.
Gleip2010-04-07 22:20:35
So it's bugged?
Actually, do you guys even have such a skill? I don't see it in the Paradigmatics scroll that Xiel has.

No it is just the basic way to deliver insanity, like the basic dreamweaver attack to cause sleepiness.

This except for aeonics and timewarp.
Gleip2010-04-07 22:26:57
Yeah I see it now. The file could be misleading but... yeah. That's neccessary. But I wonder, can druids check the amount of thornlashes they have upon a target? Should add that while you're at it, and dreamweaver for sleepiness to, though I think they already got that.

It is simple to track thornlashes. like... super simple and you can never lash a limb twice so you don't have to worry about "putting more on than you need"
Rika2010-04-07 22:28:42
The thing that makes it so damn hard to track timewarp/insanity is that it is cured by focus mind.
Gleip2010-04-07 22:36:47
What about pyromancers and burn levels? Do they have a way to check? Since even though you can see liniment application, you still can't know exactly how far along someone is to be ashed.
Esano2010-04-08 00:01:04
Most pyromancers are psionicists, which can diagnose their target (albeit at a high balance cost, but they can use the other two channels to simultaneously attack, and the bodyscan will also be checking vessels if they're TK).
Regarding the worries about knowing how insane/timewarped you are ... you see this when curing. It doesn't really matter if it's in the afflict line or not, because the moment you cure it, you're going to know (roughly) how insane or timewarped you are. So I don't think sticking it in the afflict line is all that problematic, nor is it all that necessary.
But yes, I support standard affliction lines! For both temporaryinsanity AND timewarp!

Standard afflict lines are what I've been asking for the whole time heh.
Of course I know that you see the level when curing it, I already have the lines on me (though I'm also annoyed that they change the focus line when you're focusing for timewarp/insanity). I just want a check on -both- aff and cure. Again, flame levels already do this, I haven't heard of a compelling reason why timewarp/insanity shouldn't as well. The biggest argument I've gotten is 'not necessary', but if this were a serious argument, then more than half of all new things implemented so far are 'not necessary' and therefore shouldn't have been done.
With streamlining combat and the addition of 2 new affs, why make it harder for systems than it already is?

Are you for having warrior attacks say wound levels on hits, too, then?
Eventru2010-04-08 01:13:19
Might as well envoy it, and let the envoys debate it out.

Absolutely, make life easier for everyone.

I hate how I can be fighting someone who hasn't got aeonics triggers but still can't manage to timequake them after a while because they're curing all the timewarps with focus mind when they tried to cure the Oracles/Timeechoes afflicts. I fail.

Both skillsets seem to have some real issues that make them fairly unusable for knights, apart from the odd def. Even the paradigmatics illusion skill has a length limit that is retardedly prohibitive.
Gonna need a special report on these
