Glomdoring put in hours of work as well, I believe. And it certainly was an option for, you know, Serens to work on influencing rather than fighting- or slaughtering what was obviously a village. dunno.gif

If you guys had finished your side first and ended up winning a village, don't think anybody would be upset that much. And no, seriously you can't expect people to suddenly throw pretty much all org RP and all the RP of the event out the window on a moments notice. We probably would have killed most of the place without noticing it was a village if the shop wasn't visible on the map from the entrance.

I'm pretty surprised that there wasn't some token reward, even if it was just something like a bunch of power, or a blessing, or a pile of commodities, or some free guards, or cheese sandwiches for everyone, or something, for all that work. Sounds like what we're meant to believe is this was the good outcome -- so the possible outcomes ranged from "you're totally screwed" to "you're only slightly screwed"?

Serenwilde clearly made the right choice to just attack the village. Bravo!

I enjoyed my small part in this event quite a bit. It's too bad more of Magnagora didn't get involved, but Mag is pretty small and honestly just laid back these days. Early efforts to assist largely resulted in us being killed by Hallifax (well, Rika), since Glomdoring seemed content to let Halli kill illithoids while trying themselves to help them. It's just how Glomdoring is and always has been. It amuses me really that while in appearances those two villages remain opposed, they're actually controlled by a pair of allies, something they are most likely not aware of wink.gif

Some kind of little present or token from Neferti or Zenobia for the help we gave her and the matrons, or even just a thank you note, I think would make a the people who feel shafted a little happier.

This. I have no problem with Glom having a village, really, since they did work on their half, and I wouldn't know they did it badly except Eventru told us. tongue.gif It's getting gangbanged by Celest in the revolt after they didn't raise a finger to help the event that probably the most annoying at this point. We got nothing, and this was supposedly the "good" ending for us.
Eventru2010-04-11 03:02:21
Who says there isn't? Who says it's over. Not everything is done/finished/completed at once.

Edit: And I've removed a sarcastic/jab/inflammatory post and a response to it (as it was therefore nonsensical).

Play nice.
Kalaneya2010-04-11 03:05:49
As far as I could tell, we were the only ones working on the illithoid side, which seemed outrageously tedious (were we doing it wrong, Eventru? sad.gif ) Sorry to everyone who got screwed, but it's not like Glom coasted all the way to the end, at least from what I saw on my side.

But I'm happy for an illithoid village in general, kudos to the admin for that!

Edit: MMAKIGOGOTL! *Nekotai squee*

Fair enough.

Oh, I'm glad it's not over.

So was ours, and we apparently did it right, so you probably were.

The bad outcome was probably something along the lines of "Serenwilde etc. gets raped by huge army of pubescent illithoids."

I hate when that happens.
Shiri2010-04-11 03:22:41
I think there was some horrible miscalculation on how awful our quest was, which could either be surprising to you or not given that, sure, they fixed the kephera quest after like 3 years of being shockingly horrible, but on the other hand they fixed the kephera quest after like 3 years of being shockingly horrible.

I did like the non-grind parts of the event though.

As I understand it we didn't start the violence, I certainly didn't, I just started getting attacked, can't exactly blame us...
Unknown2010-04-11 03:35:21
Nah, Celest started it. Jazella attacked me while I was debating, and I think a couple of other Serens were getting hit by Celestians too.

Unknown2010-04-11 04:21:24
Well, that sucks. For Serenwilde. Because I'm pretty sure they did 70% of the work on their side. If they had won the village, too, the reward of 'winning' the event would have been obvious. sad.gif

However, yay! I'm guessing the honor quests for these villages involve the Undervault, though, and I dislike the Undervault quests. ohmy.gif

I know the keph one involves visiting the other hives. tongue.gif

I LOVE Undervault quests.

(no sarcasm intended!)
Thul2010-04-11 05:10:20
I kind of wish Serenwilde had gotten Ptoma. This largely has to do with me wanting to figure out the mechanics with the dwarf miner standins, but I do feel bad that they haven't seen anything despite all the ridiculous stuff they've had to do for however long now. Is there some sort of rule that UV quests have to grate on your sanity or something? Eesh.

But Ixthiaxa is pretty awesome. I'm pleased, even if ICly I'm wondering why the 'thoids couldn't get out any further. And I just need for this one guy to start working again for some awesome guild stuff... very excited.
Shaddus2010-04-11 05:14:41
Maybe if Serenwilde weren't in bed with Magnagora/helping Magnagora didn't help Magnagora with the ascendancy, Celest wouldn't secretly hate Seren.

Just sayin'
