I could get behind Sojiro's suggestion.

A good solution towards Ongaku's problem would be to allow you to activate 50 lesson's worth total (in activation fees) instead of one skill per RL day.
This way, you can forget spellcraft/enchantment, and learn tailoring, forget tailoring, then activate both spellcraft/enchantment and you're good to go.

Would allow Warriors and Mages to double switch guild skill specs when no one else can.

It'd be nice if instead of the "you can forget again" flag resetting at GMT midnight, it reset 24 hours after you switched. Then, when forget a half-skill, it can be 12 hours. And it'd be possible to also make it so tradeskills have a much lower cooldown time. Could even make it further refined: guild skills take longest (but half as long if you're forgetting only a specialization), then common skills take less, then tradeskills even less, for instance.

Can't really blame the guild/class for that. They still pay, but now it takes only 1 RL day as intended instead of 2-3.
Why would anyone in their right mind be content with knowing only Totems, only Hunting, or only Enchantment and not being able to use their transed out spec.

Pretty much what I'd like to see, yeah. I really don't see any major issues with being able to select tradeskills more frequently than once every 24 hours.

Not blaming them, just saying they're the only ones who can switch at half price without leaving their guild. I agree you should be able to go back to trans in a specced skill in one day, just saying that doing so by allowing 50 lessons worth instead of just being able to activate Spellcraft or something straight up for 50 exacerbates the warrior/mage guild skill switching thing.
Unknown2010-04-16 19:33:20
I'd be fine with just activating the specced skill for 50 too, so long as it comes with the base.

Good idea! I'll ask Roark if that's doable.

It just shows the help file for HELP LORECRAFT, which is what should be updated to make this clear IMO.
I TYPOed this.

Nobody would ever take Harmony. Ever.
It wouldn't even be a function of game balance. Until Harmony makes you able to reenact fight scenes from Kung Fu Hustle, Stealth wins in terms of sheer thematic awesome.

I would, if only for the trans skill. Only for the trans skill.

The following skills are dormant and may or may not be activatable (see above
list):
* Bookbinding - Inept (0 lessons)
skillchoice activate bookbinding
You do not have the 50 lessons required to activate that skill.
An anonymous friend managed to screw this up, is there an obvious way around this that she's missing? If not, is it intended?

What's wrong..?
Ardmore2010-04-19 15:15:07
S/he made an Inept skill dormant, and now can't get it back because it costs 50 lessons, if I read that correctly.
Unknown2010-04-19 18:02:20
Why can't she just skillchoice select bookbinding again, it's just inept anyway.
Eldanien2010-04-19 18:54:07
forget bookbinding
skillchoice select bookbinding
?
