I figured this was as good of a place as any, since there is a small chance one of you have read it!
About..five or so years ago I read an utterly amazing book called The Godplant, or the Godseed, I don't remember which. There were two main females, who later turned out to be a single woman who thought herself to be two. There were scenes telling about how the second personality's planet had died due to drought, causing a scene in a government building after her family's water was turn off. The ending was telling about how a bunnncch of people were connected through the Godplants.
I have no idea if any of you will recognize this, but if you do pleeease pleeeeaseee tell me how to find it! I'm going a bit bonkers over this

That sounds vaguely familiar. My Mom was telling me a couple years ago about a book called Godseed, by an Elizabeth Walker. I've not yet read it myself, but she said it had themes like that, it was a spiritual book about how we're all connected to God or some such. Not totally sure if that's what you're looking for, but I hope it helps.

Definitely not the same book. Found that one earlier.
I can find any book in the world, but I need the correct title. Sorry, Pectus.

I really wanted to be the one to find this.
I stretched my Google-fu to its utmost limit, did all sorts of Internet acrobatics with "god," "plant," and "seed" (alone and in combination), browsed lists of books, checked plot synopses....
Pectus, can you remember any distinct phrase or quotation from the book? Anything at all? Was it science fiction, fantasy, both, or neither? Was the author male or female? Can you recall any proper names from the book, including planet names? Do you have any idea in what year the book was written (obviously ~2005-2006 or earlier)?
Anyway, since I can't find it myself, I'm going to see if some other Internet people will recognize it.

This is what reference librarians are for. They have master's degrees in doing this.

Sorry hun. Only quote I can remember is a rather perverted one. I remember that the planet the 'two' characters went to had females in charge though! And that one them fell in love with the ambassador's 'husband'. Not much other than that.
