Silly Xenthos. It doesn't HAVE to be email. It can be like a long post here. Or a notepad.

Or a quill and paper.

Is not part of the catharsis writing it with at least the pretense of intent to send it to the desired target, so you can fill it out with all the angst and frustration that they have forced you to endure?

And then taking a deep breath and clicking the 'delete' button (the hardest part!)
Eventru2010-08-05 21:58:28
I address them to the other administrators, so that we can all laugh caustically at our callous disregard for your feelings while we roll around in phat piles of lewt.

(I'm kidding!)

That's it. Expect another email shortly, Estarra!

Let's make it three. We shall corral Druken into this as well.

If we try, I'm sure we can fill up her e-mail box. Perhaps false promises of changes to (Lich/Trueheal/Order Affinity/Vernal Ascendants/The inability to plug into Lusternia permanently) will lure them into our sweet, sticky trap.

RANTY RANT! You suck, ROAR. Hiss, gargle, your shoes don't match! You need new glasses and your knees nob JUST A TOUCH TOO MUCH, SIR. Doodoo head cootie queen!

(example) It was fun to write and I addressed it to you, in a way! You can even write with a pen and paper 'Dear Xenthos,' and pretend to have the intent to stalk down the person's address.

But yea, if you have an email prepped and ready to send, it's probably more cathartic to have the immediate potential to ruin someone's day in a nice, handy, ready-to-be-sent text box.

Edit: I was ninja'd. Consider the rant addressed to Estarra, then!

How about Druken viciously attacking me??? He is suppressing my right to peacefully peruse the forums! To arms! Take up thy pens and keyboards!

Reading the public news board and wondering why the Divine in-game always feel the need to stick their nose into everything going on and putting themselves out there as "I AM GOD SHOW ME RESPECT RAAAAWR".

Because they are gods? And that is what they get for volunteering?

I mean, there are worse things to complain about a Divine doing. Like, say, turning your Nexus bright pink. Or Divine Mandating at the Nexus with absolutely no warning for some little thingy, so that nobody can even leave (or tell others to stay away).

Those are the Divine things that bother me; a few posts here and there really aren't an issue. tongue.gif

Every time I start reading the Tao Te Ching I get an urge to roll a Dracnari Gaudiguchian.
Lendren2010-08-05 22:21:42
Maybe it's just me, but most of the time, writing a rant and then not sending it actually makes me feel worse. (Not as much worse as writing one and sending it inevitably does, but still worse.) For me it's better to just move on.

Lost 20% of exp from trying to get to Mount Dio, and then getting there and being raked by the freakish monsters.

Guess I'll just have to wait until/if I get Demi. Or reincarnate.
Razenth2010-08-05 22:34:10
Why would you lose % from trying to GET to Dio? Well, okay, I can see sort of why, since you're not Demi, but you'd have to be very unlucky. I can see you dying rather easily once you get there though. I wouldn't even think about going there without a group now that I'm aslaran and don't have numen.
Druken2010-08-05 22:48:36
It's a method of moving on that may not work for everyone. For people who are just naturally hot-tempered and need to learn to chillax. If chillaxing just doesn't do it for you, type something up and let the hypothetical response soothe your woes (even though the response should never occur because you don't send it!).

Yeah, for some reason I had this idea that Mount Dio was a serene, quiet mountain with scenic spots one could go for a pleasant picnic. I was terribly mistaken.

I died trying to get to Dio because one of the attempts through the transporter landed me at the bottom of a gravedigger pit with 2 gravediggers and a queen sad.gif

Hah! I thought so too.

For what it's worth, once you're able to safely move around the place, it's really one of the best-designed areas I've ever seen. The quests are just so... fun!
