Anyone had ostrich before? Its sort of like..biting into a lung or something. The texture reminds me of styrofoam.

I have, I thought it was really like beef steak actually. Maybe the way it's prepared?

Also in response to Sadie's original post ... ever tried Chinese 'vegetarian meat'? There are vegetarian versions of lobster, crab, chicken, almost everything. They're not that common so I'm not sure if you can find a store where you live... but they can give you an idea of what the meat is like (of course it's not spot on, there's still a bit of tofu/soy taste)

I call being the person who stands there awkwardly and rambles about all the different kinds of ducks she's seen and which ones are her favourites (it's buffleheads) instead of eating.

It can be a flexible theme. You can come dressed as your favorite duck.

Since going vegetarian, the only thing I have ever missed is the taste of various kinds of fish.

I am a close to being an anti-vegetarian that I can be. I really don't like veggies. I downright hate them. If I can find out which kind of meat I need to eat to dodge the hated broccoli, I will look up some recipes and gobble down that liver faster then you can say "Carnivore"

Duckgirls: one key away from being a hilarious misunderstanding.

I was a pescetarian for two months. Same thing as Vegetarian, except I could eat fish, seafood, and other stuff that came from the water.

Just don't be surprised if Demetrios and I start murmuring about proper basting techniques and eyeing you hungrily.

Yeah, it's really popular here. Malaysia is probably one of the few places you can find stuff that is really close on the mark and tasty (I've had fake baloney in USA before. Nuh uh.). I don't really like to eat too much of the stuff though, because gluten isn't something you want to eat everyday. I think. It's still not quite the same though.

And here I sit thinking about resigning as Minister of Peace because I feel like I have all these great ideas, but I never do it.

Do it!

... The great ideas, I mean.

OMG the website got even cooler! It even tells me how many unread news posts I have and EXACTLY WHICH ONE was the last one I read! Squee!

I love how if mortal reviewers don't feel like looking at a design, they just flag it "nomortalreview" and it sits there for weeks.

Mortal reviewers cannot flag it 'no mortal review' - they can flag it 'needs divine review', which means they feel there is something about the design that requires the Charites to look at it. Generally it's a questionable design choice (floating candles using cloud essence, all dirt cheap commodities (bacon breastplate, in example), etc), though if a trademaster resubmits arguing the reason it was rejected, it also will very likely be flagged (since they aren't supposed to handle those). There's very few Charites, and they're all thoroughly busy, so unfortunately it can be a while before someone gets to it.
