And shiny cup cakes eventually, right? I hope shiny cup cakes will be stocked...
Nariah2010-09-10 17:05:06
Shiny, orange cupcakes with vanilla icing and absinthe-filled muffins sprinkled with pink stars. Yes.

But given that only Barrin would have the information, we'll never really know. Unlikely as Talan's theory seems given what little info we have available, it's the only one we have, and therefore, the most likely explanation.

I'm not sure why you think it's unlikely, it's the exact explanation. Those things are mean and sometimes can suck out a fair bit of power, so you can die even at a quarter-tank (where you might think you are 'safe' but you are not).

And as Lehki stated, just being out drains reserves over time.

Hay Lendren, being undocked drains the ships power reserves. It's like fuel, that you can occasionally use for other things.

Oh, thanks. I've never used aetherships before and have no way to guess how much being out for a half hour would use. I forgot that moving two rooms about three times over a half hour would completely drain a ship. Tell me again, where do I live? I can't seem to read the note that got pinned to my raincoat.

I always forget what helpful, sympathetic, and kind people we have here, until I succumb to the temptation to talk here.

Chill out big guy, people are just trying to let you know what happened, pull out the stick, take a deep breath and chill out

See, now this simply will not do. It's clearly time to rise up out of my self-imposed tea commodity woes and reinstate the domination of Viybucks. fisticuff.gif

It's true! They are!

Two ways for a ship to die, lack of power, hull destroyed, oh look, you hull was big enough to withstand it, oh look, you just got drained of power before dying by something that can randomly take a large ammount of power.

I wonder what happened.

If you guys really can't see the condescension, then good on you, because your life's going to seem a lot rosier thanks to what you can't see, or choose not to see. In any case, it is a moot point. There were two sides to the story, and you guys can feel very proud of yourselves for the sheer random chance of happening to have only heard the side that probably turns out to not be the one that contains the miscommunication/error/misunderstanding/lie. Of such triumphs are legends born and empires forged. And they all lived happily ever after.

You seem to think that the answers are 'condescension' when they're really not intended to be that way. The answer was given as to what went on; if something else was stated by the pilot, then that's the pilot's fault. Doesn't change that the answers to the implied question of 'what happened' are correct.

Speaking for myself, even if I had heard the pilot's side claiming there was lots of power in the ship, I wouldn't believe it. Pilot error is easy, and it's easy to try to claim something was 'bugged,' but this is one area where I've not seen a bug even after playing with many karibideans (to the point where I made it flashy and highlighty, as I said).

It still makes no sense for a city that slaves and robs people of their free will to be allied to a city that celebrates freedom. Ideals don't mean a damn thing, it seems... or, was it just a case of 'Let's be friends because (1) my leaders were members of your org, or (2) we're cool OOC'. It shouldn't bother me, but it totally does.

Also, Mags needs more mad engineers. And gears. I like gears.

EDIT: Oh, crap. I went past the 140 character limit.
