Does anyone else feel cheated when their commune/city cartel uses their slots to sell private slots to people? Aren't those supposed to be public slots for anyone's use? Private, people owned cartels are supposed to be for private, one-person only designs I would think :/

That said, if they're just asking for the 5k submission fee, that's not really "selling" it. It costs 5k to submit a private design, so they're asking you to pitch in the cost.

If they're charging more, that's unusual, and you can just laugh at them. And then contest. And / or move to a different org.

It's more that I see A LOT of "This design is only for (blah)" in the comments, when I look through designs when I'm asked to list stuff for people. I'd feel like a jerk to be making the item for someone else, and it's hard for me to keep track of what's okay to make and what isn't, despite that the only private cartel I'm in is my own. Bleh. Just me being vexed. It's not like I'll see a lot of customers anyways.

I'd say that you're okay ignoring the comments, items are going to be much rarer now anyways so sell what you can.

If they were private cartel designs, sure, but they're not. If people put them in the public domain, then they're in the public domain, comment or no.

Edit: It's kind of like putting your band's music up on a site, free download, with a notice saying that there isn't going to be any way to punish anyone for downloading it, with a further note saying, "Only BillyBob should download this!"

And then advertising the page on Google for everyone to see.
