I've gotten other city members to donate to the city cartel designs, in the idea of, oh look, you mentioned the shiny thing I made sort of, pay up. Generally they're good sports, and do.

I used to be shy about asking people for the fee, but screw that! Now I just tell them I'm not going to submit their design as private unless they cough up the gold. I am not made of money, this is not the First National Bank of Phoebus. After submitting nine designs out-of-pocket because I said I would (contest entries blaaa) I am really not keen on paying for any more of these myself. Unless, you know, I'm the one who designed it...but now I am rambling.

Sadness: I don't get bonus lessons from credits anymore. Bonus lessons...I miss you...

I certainly make it a policy that people pay for their own submission fees. But I've been doing this a long time, and people have many times managed to prevail upon my generosity, or promise it's coming later and then disappear, or otherwise stiff me. (Like it turns out happened this time.) No one ever tips or anything, so it's not like there's any chance to balance it back out.

The gold isn't really a problem. I mention it only because I'm being accused of cheating someone because of collecting it. Apparently, soon, me and the Charites are going to buy that beach house on the Blessed Isle and sip mojitos on the deck. Just as soon as they finish up their half of the scam!

Does that person know anything at ALL about the cartel system? Like the fact that it, uh, costs 5,000 gold before the Charites can/will look at their precious snowflake of a design?

I made an alt once. I played her like, a week. ;_;

I like people too much and it drives me bonkers I can't talk to everyone interesting when they pass by... *cough*

Alts are great for testing waters and seeing if an org/Guild is to one's liking though. And a good break sometimes, from all the drama of the main char.

Same here. I played an alt for a week once, but it's hard to leave all that main character goodness just sit there.
