I feel bad for the admin for coding that thing, people were bothering them for ages to get an aether arena and then it was used all of three times.

We used it three or four times yesterday.
Shiri2010-10-13 17:27:16
Well, okay, it was used all of three times until recently!
Kiradawea2010-10-13 17:29:08
Yeah. There was lots of people demanding it, saying that aetherbattles never happened because you couldn't practice. And then when it came up, I couldn't find crews to fill even one ship.

Because trying to get people to use it is like pulling your own teeth. Painful and rarely successful.
They'd use it if more random aether pirates went around ganking other ships. Not that I'm saying you should.

Thulbear needs to return.
Btw, thanks for posting the announce admins!

I would like to retract my rave of beasts being able to attack mobs based on the following.
------------------------------------------------------- TRAINED ABILITIES|
| Battle <> |
| (Spit Poison) |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A slithering yellow lizard yelps in pain as a young chimaera bashes him.
You have scored a CRITICAL hit!
A young chimaera slashes a slithering yellow lizard viciously.
You have scored an ANNIHILATINGLY POWERFUL CRITICAL hit!
The final blow proves too much for a slithering yellow lizard, who expires, pitifully.
You have slain a slithering yellow lizard.
2 critical aggressive beast hits to kill... a lizard.
Now I can understand that beasts are not supposed to do much damage, but they have a 10 second balance. I think the least they should do is be able to kill a lizard/rat/weevil in 1 hit, especially when aggressive, without the need for critical hits.

I'm too lazy to link it now, but I made the same point in the Simple Ideas thread. The damage could at least be increased a little against just mobs, I think.
Gregori2010-10-13 19:49:27
Yeah I just saw it now and I agree with you.
Don't agree with Xenthos though.
Increasing the mob damage is never -ever- going to replace regular bashing. It's on a 10 second timer for crying out loud.

It took all of Gaudi's 11 available citizens 30 minutes before someone helped me with my lack of coltsfoot.
Riluna2010-10-14 22:21:16
Apparently I raided the Air plane at some point.
I'm not complaining about it, or anything, just at a loss to remember when this happened, what with my fighting people all the time.

I did that too! I didn't even get a lousy T-shirt.

You weren't enemied for raiding, you were enemied for being with a group who assisted with the resurrection of an enemy on Air.
Lendren2010-10-14 22:46:14
Like that's better. Do you find out who gave the lichseed or sold someone vitae and enemy for that, too? Let's not pretend it's anything more than selling "enemying means something" for 5000 gold as a fundraiser. (Not that the resurgem is why I was actually there at that moment, anyway, but let's not let mere accuracy of details get in the way, either.)
Riluna2010-10-14 22:53:02
I didn't mean to start an argument, I'm just hoping someone out there can remind me when I did this.
In lighter news, I'm a combatant, and I didn't even know it. Maybe I can figure it out easier, the second time around.

You can feel that way if you want, but I assure you, you guys weren't enemied just to get gold. We didn't do it right away, but then some people were like "well...they came onto our plane to resurrect an enemy. That's not cool." So, you know. That's how it went!

I really don't know! I mean, ICly, the diplomacy records are all we have to go on, especially years after the fact. So if they say you did something, and no one remembers otherwise, then you might as well have done something.
Ileein2010-10-14 23:06:41
Ah, censorship jokes. They are so fun to make.

Hi. Let's keep it in-game. Sorry you feel slighted, enemying people isn't my favorite thing to do either. But there was a discussion on the matter, a decision was reached, and I tried to come up with the lowest fine suggested. That's it. You can disagree with it and claim we just desperately need 25k for some fascinating scientific reason. But it happened.
Moving onward.
Tweet: Cartels. They're kind of awesome.

Hi. Let's keep it in-game.
Not that I'm eager to continue this, since it started out as a joke that got taken defensively, but for the record: I did send a message which was not acknowledged in any way, quite some time ago.
That enemy status is meaningless has been true for a long time now. No one is blameless in this regard. If we can't even make jokes about that fact, I guess we can't even mention it. So instead, I just have two words to say:
Order Affinity.
