I hate events and event-mode. :/

I don't get the big deal about aetherhunts. They take forever to get around while you stand around doing nothing, and in the end... it is less experience than influencing guards or monks, something I've been able to do for almost 30 levels.

So... what is the big hype of this being awesome XP?

You'd be amazed how much of a difference it is if you're aetherhunting with a skilled captain and efficient crew in a good ship against the right targets. I've been on a handful of aetherhunts in the last month on each of two characters, and most of them were slower than influencing or about the same, but the right few were a lot better (notably those Sadie ran).

Gonna have to agree with you on that, but it will be pretty darn cool if I end up being the daring aetherpilot who... helped Hallifax... do whatever we're doing...

Am I missing something in Hallifax or are there more people who RP more then being silly and running around with paperwork and omg science! I'm sure there is serious RP out there, an authoritarian meritocratic society built around actual and science and arts that sneers down on the basin from their lofty position. I know there is room for something serious and for real science and arts but all I see are cats in spheres. Any suggestions on who to actually hit up for something that isn't silly?
