Is it just a matter of you guys not having a bookshelf or something? I'm pretty sure there are bunch of poor, starving Artisans out there who would appreciate any sort of work flock to you like a ravenous swarm of piranhas that smell blood.

EDIT: No, that is not a shameless plug, because Bookshelves are 75% Fabled and I'm 0% Virt. I swear I'm gonna switch to Jewelry. At least powerstones sell. dry.gif

How do you guys not have yours yet, even Templars have theirs and we didn't have an Artisan TM for a long while. wtf.gif

I hate how every time discussion is brought to the forums that is the slightest bit heated, one of three moderators rushes to cram their fist down the throats of everybody involved. It shows a lot of class. On the topic of Gaudiguch, Ditzy Scribe seems to be under the ridiculous impressions that certain other people who have been slapped down for their foolishness is under. I'm not a jerk OOC, I'm definitely a pretty approachable guy until you decide to make it very obvious that you have no ability to be reasonable - IC, Rodngar is a gruff character. That is all there is to it. Alcohol and drugs shouldn't be what Gaudiguch is about, and the increase in 'harshness' exhibited by any character in power in the city is for the sake of necessity - without that extra level of "I'm not going to tolerate this", a lot of liberties would be taken that far pass the "dude, it's a game, don't get so pissy" line.

Because it has, on every occasion, become a topic that requires moderation. Avoidance of 'hot button' problems has proven infinitely more effective than 'wait and see' policies, much as with the current gaudiguch political climate, and order affinity. The former is something that should be carried out IG, not on the forums, where it always degrades into a volatile flurry of insults and hurt feelings.

That's a good enough reason for me, I guess, though I often wonder why people come to the forums if they have weak enough feelings to be hurt by people on the internet. Oh well.
Furien2010-07-18 00:54:24
I think we're reading into it a little bit too much if we're thinking someone's feelings have been legitimately hurt, rather than seeing that someone disapproves of (present situation here) and would just like it changed.

I'm more referring to where the conversation goes than where it starts, initially. I'm fairly certain some people get far too upset and angry following the spats on the forums over it.

I wish I could code. Then I could use those four affliction shrug skills in Aeonics without the system trying to cure them anyway.

It is ok. It would take me rewriting my whole system to get them to work smoothly in mine. I just can't seem to get myself to bother with it.

I know my feelings are hurt. Can I haz hug, Evie-Puff?

The hilarious thing is, its far more heated on the forums than it is ICly, even on the worst day!

It's like, people go, "LeGasp! Soandso was terse with me! TERSE! TO THE FORUMS!"

That is because ICly people are not on equal footing. Though we should go back to tweets.

Personally, I think the swarm of responses as soon as anyone is criticised speaks for itself.

Wolf: I've growled at him a thousand times and he's still not getting the picture, maybe if I smile at him he'll leave me alone. If not I'm just going to bite his face off next time.

Ouch. I'd be perfectly fine with holding it together with gum and load-bearing posters.

Fain finally did his bead design, though it's not the one I wrote up and offered. sad.gif

The ones I designed:
QUOTE
malevolent prayer beads of the Red Masque

A malevolent red mist hovers about the pile of prayer beads on the ground here.

A twining golden rope has been laced with a series of spherules in order to form an intricate collection of prayer beads. A full third of the beads are red gold, inscribed with spidery runes of an unknown origin. Another third are steel, slightly oblong and inscribed with a scowling, yet noble mask. The last third are obsidian, almost seeming to drink in the surrounding light and reflecting none of their own. A small crimson mist surrounds a bone phylactery central to the set, coating rope and beads in a sanguine layer of blood.

His final design:
QUOTE
a strand of bloody Fainite prayer beads.

A grotesque circle of beads strews the ground, pulsing with palpable malevolence.

Shards of rubescent, frozen blood are suspended along this length of prayer beads; between them, shards of souls writhe in nigrescent shadows. Barbs rise between the sanguinary gemwork, threatening the neck of the wearer. Small, crack-ridden pawns of exquisitely-carved bone dangle beneath, clattering together like long-dried skeletons amidst the grotesque jewelry. A clasp of blackened, fire-warped iron serves as both fastening and a centrepiece from which a mask of battered steel and ruby drapes.

I guess his are almost better >.>
Jack2010-07-18 02:22:59
Nigrescent? I'd never even heard that word before. His design definitely wins in the ominous sounding word stakes.
