EDIT: And I still don't get what's so horrible about you guys getting an extra person to beat up. :/ It's not like certain-unnamed-person makes that much of an impact, and I thought you all liked stepping on us.

Thing is, the Law of Disproportionate Retaliation states that for every one act done by a person, the repercussions have to be at least 3000% greater than the initial act.
That's just how Lusternia is. If one person loses a duel, a whole team comes after to kill the winner soon after. If one person defends ally org x, a whole team comes to defend when that person's org raids another place. One person kills a member in plane x, a big camping retaliatory raid immediately commences.
And so on.

Like I didn't know. Being hunted down consistently for showing up to three or four raids out of the dozens that've happened since I left... is kind of fail.
Not on my part, of course. ^^ But you knew that.

Which I think is hilarious given Narynth's complaint to gaudiguch about Gloms(her) being jumped in neutral territory and the whole "you leave us alone we will leave you alone, barring defending allies" began, but carries a pretty one-sided lean to it.

There's a difference between that and "Chalcedony actively helps Glomdoring's enemies against Glomdoring". If Hallifax constantly raided Gaudiguch and Narynth helped them all the time, I could see attacking her. If she stayed out of it, why would they jump her for it?

That'd work if I actually raided Glom, ever.
But considering all I do is go to EtherWilde every once in a while... Your analogy doesn't work so well.

Now, now, let's not even start on the 'defending orgs not your own' argument.
We're all well aware that no one will actually stop doing that (and neither do many people want to) unless all alliances literally fall apart at the same time. Plus while it's nice to do the whole 'but THEY started it first' thing, it'll just end up getting split from this thread. And really, who ever heard about 'even teams', it's all about the win and bitterness.
For example, if Glomdoring magically decided, through some subtle but quiet maneuvering by certain individuals, to stop defending allied orgs for a certain amount of time, the fact of the matter is, the moment Glomdoring starts doing its own thing, a certain unnamed fireseren will start defending Etherwilde, so we then Smug It Up and then go back to rage/revengedefending with extra zeal. All it takes is one person for such things to fall apart.
Edit: That's right, ragedefending. New term coined.

To me it just seems that defending others' orgs is more like "I want in on the combat" than any conceived "they're our allies, must protect". Of course, I could be wrong, but then using the argument that "well they defended when we raided Plane" seems a bit silly.

Analogy Fail. Please try again.
edit:: to clarify using your analogy we should be jumping Narynth anytime we see her because she has defended Celest against Gaudiguch and therefore has aided Gaudiguch's enemies against Gaudiguch.

considering Celest is Gaudiguch's enemy only because of Munsia's idiocy? Sure, jump right on that.

That's not a jab, it's the truth. Gaudiguch wasn't against Celest until Munsia got all Pyromancery and decided to raid Celestia with Mag right afterwards.
Oh, and Pesukaru deathsonging Scuchi, but that's totally not his fault.
Either way, I'm not condoning Chalcedony being hunted down just for helping Serenwilde. All I'm saying is that her doing so puts her on people's enemy lists, and that she should know that people are merely trying to cause trouble.

When Celest, longggggg after Munsia had her idiocy, raided guards, that is why right there.
Rodngar2010-07-22 07:28:54
I don't think we should be helping Serenwilde at all, because barring the cool people I can count on one hand, they do nothing for us (and even refused to let us kill a city enemy in their limits) and would likely not appreciate or make the most out of our help anyways.

Uh no. Gaudiguch didn't become enemies with Celest until they invited a Gaudiguchian citizen in for a diplomatic conversation then Inagin killed her, then when we asked what Celest was going to do about it, they said "nothing" so I told Munsia and vathael. Go kick the crap out of them all you want. Up until that point we had been working on a treaty with Celest. Again, good thing you came armed with the facts.
Munsia actually whined and complained all the time about not being able to attack Celest.

Well, I can't really comment on the jumping-others-on-neutral-territory, I'm not really into that myself, and I'm fairly sure most of glom/gaudi is the same way.
The last time I've heard about this is when Xiel jumped Chalcedony in the gorgog caves, but I really don't think it's happened more than once or twice and if I recall correctly, each time was a day or two after she just defended Etherwilde. It's not much of an excuse, but I'd like to think it's far better than 'hey he/she's an enemy on enemy territory, GO FOR THE KILLZ'. And I mean it's not like either side is guilt-free anyway, I still remember when Gaudi declared people for linking prime nodes, heh.
EDIT: OH GOD NO DONT SPLIT MEEEEEEE
