This is how I actually weighted the stats for Researchers in my little system:
CON: +3 (per point above 12)/-3 (per point below 12)
INT and CHA: +2/-2
DEX: +1/-1 (useful in combat even on its own)
STR: +0.25/-0.25
Size: n/a (not counted)
I thought that was pretty fair, considering my extra criterion (i.e., being above-average at influencing).

I'd drop int down to match dex and totally ignore strength.

That actually makes a lot of sense, plus it would have a delightful effect on further complicating the political alliances and enmities. However, wasn't Terentia with Amberle, or am I misremembering? (Which certainly doesn't preclude her having another lover later. Even Charune got over losing his first love to court again.)
I'm actually not sure about Amberle. I learned about Nocht/Maylea and Fain/Lisaera ICly. Its been a really long time since I read the Elder Wars. If that is even the right place to find that information? This should be written somewhere, in a wiki maybe.

In my opinion, playing as a prismatic lucidian isn't terrible. They are definitely not supermages, but I don't think they play bad or need a huge buff. I'll admit influencing comptrollers is painful. Maybe just let them keep the -1 con.

Oh no, I think lucidians are just ducky as Aeromancers, but they wouldn't be anywhere near my first choice for Researchers (they're still perfectly viable for that purpose, just not what I would consider a top pick).
Everiine2010-07-12 22:47:42
Meridian was with Amberle, right?

Maybe you can talk about it with Estarra if you feel motivated enough. I'm not good at comparing the endless components of racial stats.

Amberle was Merdian's "sister-mate," which will not get less squicky in my head no matter how many times I tell myself that gods work differently than mortals. Terentia had an unrequited, and possibly exclusive lust for Meridian.

Hah, I expanded to buff my strength and lower my dex, so I can be a more efficient shieldstun whore.

Well, I'm not saying lucidians are broken, unbalanced, or anything of the sort. I think lucidians are fine; I'm just bandying about my personal opinion.
I usually don't worry about stats either, but I must have caught a bug today.

I'll expand when I get Titan, but I'm not particularly worried about my base strength.

Turning statues against Magnagorans who are not even enemied is :| Novices will be attacked, and that's bad.
Sylphas2010-07-13 01:25:24
I like the one random statue in Celest that is tuned against Paladin enemies. Not even at their guildhall entrance or anything, just kind of there for lols.

Lousy stupid bandit didn't drop anything. I demand treasures!
EDIT: That's twice. Boooo. Oh well.

The one right next to it is for Aquas.
I ran into the two during the Shikari event, a few Serens moonbeamed to me to try to kill me in 'enemy territory'.
Woo amnesty.

And Celestines, and Cantors, and Tahtetso. I wonder if Celest still remembers why they have those statues in the first place.

It's from some obscure in-citizening ritual called the Gauntlet of Angels. If you so happened to lie about being unenemied to any of the Celestian guilds before seeking admission (like it's really that hard for
I think there are also a few statues tuned against members of Fain and Morgfyre's Orders for the same reason. Because of their positioning, I know with certainty that those keep out sneaky Mags trying to join Celest (not that we've had many of those lately).
