As I have it open at the moment - Confederate, Colleague and Associate are Commercial's positives, in descending order. Rebellious is the worst level a conquest gov't can reach.

Yay, thank you!

@Rika: OK, you don't need to bother to try to increase village feelings anymore!

Edit: Oh, still will try.

Is it just me or do village feelings just seem to favour the incumbent really heavily as long as they choose a benign government?

Benign isn't that big of a bonus - really, if I were a mortal in an active org (ie doing whatever I need to for feelings), I wouldn't use it (it drops production to like single-digit % for whatever you don't use, I think), except maybe if I was in a conquest org (for the bonus conquest pool production).

Oh, I had a question. How was the mining villages revolt? Too short? Too long? Too difficult? Too easy?

Shorter then I was expecting considering it was 5 villages. However, I don't believe there was much competition going in most villages this time. Rockholm had some Seren vs Celest at the start. Southgard I think was Seren vs Hallifax vs Celest in the end? The others went essentially unopposed.

There just wasn't a lot of people around at the time, really.
Unknown2010-05-11 08:40:57
So in other words, too early. Literally.
Unknown2010-05-11 08:49:27
Not many around for much conflict and excitement, yes. Too early. For a five-village feast, it was pretty dull.
Eventru2010-05-11 08:52:02
Nod. Well, can't really control if people are online or not, unfortunately!
Unknown2010-05-11 17:37:21
It was early in the day on Mother's Day, so I completely missed this one. I got on a few hours afterwards and was all like NOOO CURSE YOU GRANDMA rolleyes.gif

Can I ask....

With a Religious government, is the influence-bonus to village feelings a constant number for each denizen, regardless of the 'importance' or might of the denizen, or how many denizens there are in a village? Or is it weighted?
Rika2010-05-14 09:50:18
Oh yeah, another point that I think may be quite relevant. While you may spew numbers such as 300 comm quests in an hour, that will have to be split with up to 13 villages. That's less than 30 per village even if this figure were true. Without even taking into account the extra effort it takes to do that number of comm quests as opposed to influencing villages or the fact that a villager is worth more than a comm quest, it is a lot easier for a religious org to consistently build feelings up across multiple villages.

Edit: Reminded that it is possible to influence in an enemy village but not do comm quests.
Unknown2010-05-14 10:00:39
Man, you think you have it rough, conquest gets no power, next to no comms, has to -be- in enemy territory (and usually die) to actively get good feelings, and that gain isn't as much as commercial/religious anyway.

Then consider: When/if divinefire gets deleted, how will we get into enemy villages now. Or hell, I'm sure someone already tried to 'bug' that you can transverse from enemy territory to get that changed too, like paintings.
Rika2010-05-14 10:02:48
On the other hand, you can also just sit doing nothing as long as you hold a couple of villages and still be pretty well off.
Unknown2010-05-14 10:07:26
Well, no one really knows if that really is the case, and I don't think we want to purposefully find out right now. Though I'm fairly certain that if you were conquest and only owned 0-2 villages, you won't get anything of worth.

This is why I really think the entire system needs to be more transparent for the players.
Esano2010-05-14 10:10:15
Conquest does get power to the conquest pool. Sure, it's not active, but it certainly offsets your drains for guards (which can be quite hefty). Plus, you get what, 1k per day as benign conquest? That's as much as religious despotic gets, just without the comms and to a specific pool. For a small number of villages, you'll likely not even gain a conquest pool, but rather have it all pay off guards.

You can still get in with paintings, just like with any other teleport, and with transverse. It's getting out through distort that got fixed.

Given that I can think of three ways to get into enemy villages without divinefire off the top of my head, and it's well known that I'm an idiot who has neither Stealth nor Dreamweaving nor Gloomtide, I don't think there's going to be a problem for all the geniuses working on the question who have those tools.

How many of those don't take some kind of setup inside the village first?

Spores; have to be in.
Pyramid; have to be in.
Rift; have to be in.
Painting; have to be in.

And so on, and so forth.

The ways past a guard-clump at a chokepoint are actually extremely limited. Assuming bard songs, at least.

You have...
Deepcover
Coalesce
Tracker unite (until they fix it)

I suppose hamster would work too if it isn't stopped by distort and guards aren't at the first room, but that's pretty limited.
