In Imperian and Aetolia, you can customize guild loyals for free by talking with your guild patron. So if your guild loyal is a golem, you can make it look however you want so long as it is a golem. If it's an angel, you can make it look however you want so long as it's still an angel. Doesn't apply to classes that have lots of loyals, which here would be wiccans.
It occurred to me though, why doesn't Lusternia do this with archangels and archdemons? Most people don't trigger off the short name of the angel/demon because those change anyway depending on the skill rank of the master, rather they trigger off what the thing is doing to them. So making them customizable in Lusternia seems as if it would be really easy.
You could let people change the enter, exit and examined description. The short description could be edited in a more limited fashion so that triggers are less likely, most likely not at all, effected.
For example, instead of "a hideous archdemon" you could have "a (blank) archdemon." People could fill in the blank and have a sinister archdemon, a sensual archdemon, a gibbering archdemon, etc. etc. You can do a lot with that one word (or maybe two short words) when you also get to change the other parts of the description.
What do ya'll think of that?

I reserve judgement until halliguardians are out, if they would have this then do want otherwise don't care

The problem with this that has been raised elsewhere is that angels/demons are resummoned, which means you don't get the same angel/demon every time. This presents issues with customization.
However, if it's not too difficult to code around, I don't see any particular problems with it. Aetolia somehow managed it, after all. (Achaea still hasn't, though. )

yes... and Aetolia's producer mentioned the difficulty with doing so in one of the livestreams

I asked about customization of tracking companions a few weeks ago, and was told it wasn't possible at this time. I suspect the response will be the same for this too, partly because they aren't permanent.
Unknown2010-05-20 22:40:48
It couldn't be that difficult. You can redescribe unique things on the fly without changing their template if I recall correctly, so they could just change it based on a variable possessed by the character after one is summoned, if they don't want to code it so that they re-summon the same one each time and only have to change the description once.
This is by far one of the most popular changes ever in Imperian and Aetolia, they should get to it over here

Did they change it so that you can customize seraphs and ourobori in Imperian? Last I heard golems and guild pets and all were ok but you couldn't do seraphs/etc because of what the above posters pointed out, so I'd double check.
Unknown2010-05-21 01:59:17
I don't remember it being done to ouroboros, but you can do seraphs there.
Siam2010-05-21 04:07:53
Well...you summon a different athame each time, too. But I guess they get easier to customize if they have a rune attached to them since they become permanent. Solution: attach a rune for angels/demons/fae. /jk
I do like to see the guardian ents customized.

Pity it wouldn't make much of a difference for fae, everyone faecloaks anyway.

Having been around before faecloak, I must say I'd rather have that than prettier fae any day.
Unknown2010-05-21 13:03:30
Psh, you can make one fae uncloaked by losing it from your entourage. moving a room, faecloaking, and then recalling fae.
Aramel2010-05-21 13:21:43
Well, if they did make them customizable I'd probably get a flower nymph.

I want a barghest that looks like Arco. With all the Arco emotes. Goddamn I love Arco.
No, not only because he is the epitome of escape plans.

I'm still unsure why people kill shadowbound fae at the drop of a hat but won't touch Arco without running to me to confirm that they're allowed to kill fae that Glomdoring is abusing. :ponder:

Whoa whoa whoa. Arco is Rhianna's hound. Rhianna is Lhiannan's daughter. Night fae.

Ttly. It pains my cold, dead heart when he's loyal to me for a moon cycle and he gets killed.

If you're together, he is official first target. Sorry.

It'd also be pretty unfair for you to get it free like in Aetolia, seeing as mages/druids have to pay to get their summoned weapons/mounts customized, if I have to spend 150 cr to try and give my staff a little extra flavour you damn sure should have to, too
