For someone with a cubix, it's better to just get five bubblixes instead.

Cubix & pyramid, really. The torus is great for hard-to-reach places (beats the cubix hands-down in that you get to pick where you want to go), but the pyramid mostly counters that (have to get to it once the hard way, then can teleport there at will).

Looking for a recommendation on dingbat item.

Just obtained my three artie pipes. Was thinking about getting a hobby pipe for relaxing smoke. The lampwork hookah and smoking pipe seem like the ticket. Anyone have experience with either/or?

Secondly, I don't have any direct connection or relationship with my divine patron. Though, I was looking to pick-up the prayer beads (more or less because these dingbats are burning a hole though my pocket). Can anyone explain the real usage of this item?

Thanks!

If you don't have an urge to talk to your patron, prayer beads are just for show. Dingbat pipes are fun, haven't tried the hookah.

Pig nose is the best dingbat item you can get.

Sort of a related question: How useful really is the magical map of mystery (or whatever it is called)? What real use is it over other map/room seeing artifacts?

There are no other map-seeing artifacts. What makes the Map unique is that it gives you the unique vnum (and map) of a location, so if they're in a place with multiple rooms with identical names (such as an elemental plane) you can still track them down.

Ah. I thought it was some lesser version of the Seeing Stone. but I guess not. Might be worthy to buy then.

It's also insanely useful if you haven't memorized room names and where exactly they are in that area. I can AstroSense and see a room name, and even if I know it, it takes a second to place the area and then place that room within the area. If I don't, I'm out of luck. With the Map, I actually hardly ever look at the room name and just glance at the map to know where exactly they are.

Also, it doesn't waste scry charges, which lets me use it a lot more without worrying about it.
