Polearms!

Back to Common Grounds.

I wish, but I've already made peace that this will probably never happen, why would the admin purposefully cut down on their credit profit this way.

I'd rather keep pushing for merging combat and resilience, that ship hasn't quite sunk yet.

Cool stuff on polearms though, just give me a room prone, a way to impale people from another room, or a way to spear people and pull them into your room and I'll be content.

Well you still have to spend lessons to retrans your new spec. I think a lot of people like Iasmos are very reluctant to rerune their weaponry because they've invested so heavily, but if it was a little less lossy they might splurge. Or they might not, who knows.

That sounds a little too much like a monk type thing.

And we don't like monk types 'round these parts.
Gregori2010-05-28 00:51:35
yeah with skillflex there is no way a warrior is going to want to artifact rune numerous sets of weapons. With the membership and skillflex I think they would find warriors more prone to buying credits if they made weapon runes into something far more manageable.
Unknown2010-05-28 00:52:14
Well, technically, the monk type thing came from warriors first, so if anything, I'm just taking it back!

And I've done my share of spec switching and rune trading, so I could have appreciated such a change too, but like I've said, I gave up hope there a long time ago.

Room prone with spin spear go. Perhaps even a spear chuck skill.

What I want to see is some kind of spec that uses a shield in one hand. Has always amused me that almost everybody but the knights use a shield.
Unknown2010-05-28 00:56:28
I once envoyed asking for knights to be able to sheathe shields so they can switch them out as needed, but it was denied because the admin were planning on doing something with a sword/shield spec one day.

It was a weird denial, but eh :/

Hrm, actually it probably would make more sense to have it be something feasible for existing specs to use, rather then try to make a whole new one.

Heh, I didn't realize that made it into an envoy report! We had discussed at various points (in BS sessions) warrior specializations for: shortsword/shield (centurian specialization), spear/shield (hoplite specialization), net/trident (retiarius specialization).

I've wanted a polearm specialization for years.

I echo the sentiment about using familiar afflictions with a few useful obscure ones thrown in.

That is an oxymoron, I think. If it is useful, it is whored out, if it is not, then it is obscure.

Eh, you're probably right.

My point still stands: I would like a polearm spec.

Polearms are a great idea, but...

net/trident (retiarius specialization).

this is an awesome one.

Someone design secutor and murmillo armor.
