They really should though for those of us who just don't get paypal.
I believe this is directly set up using Paypal's autopayments, rather than anything by Lusternia directly - they'd need to set up automatic charging or something similar rather than the one-off system the current credit payments use. Either that, or perhaps a method to pay X months in advance with a credit card, with Paypal doing the current once-a-month thing. Either way, if it's coming out, I expect it'll take a bit longer.

What's the PayPal promotion on purchases >= $25? 10 dollars off a $25 purchase seems too good to be true.

Bought a membership. Had issues. Had issues fixed in ten minutes, woo. All happy.
Damn you Leta, for making me buy eeet! I still need to pay for a dentist visit while not under any insurance, meh

I really like the idea of being able to prepay for X months in advance, or to be able to manually pay with a monthly payment. I generally try to take care of all my monthly bills / payments on payday, but I don't have a set date every month that I get paid. (every other Friday vs 1st & 15th)
That being said however, I'm very excited about this

I imagine since this is currently being billed as an experiment, IRE is relying on PayPal at least until they decide whether it's worth it to continue the membership program, and maybe invest in the infrastructure for billing cycles.

Is the email address that the elite membership is tied to the email address you registered on Lusternia with for your main character that you indicate for membership or is it the email address that you use to sign on to paypal to pay for the membership?

What are the chances of a pre-pay system for this? If you offer such a system I will happily buy 6 months worth of subscription today. Don't make me post another Ask Estarra video

Yeah, it is. I wound up somehow getting billed three times due to a website glitch, and then NOT getting credited for it ingame.
An e-mail to Lusternia support later... I'm credited in game, PayPal says two of those bills got refunded... but I can't find the money anywhere.
Gah.

I managed to get it all done, this means I get halliguardians when I wake up, right?

It's one of those incentives to use the service more. If you have an infrequently used account, you'd've gotten an e-mail qualifying you for it.

You'll get over not having WoW, trust me.
Wow cannot be played for free! Lusternia can!
And maybe I'll get over not having WoW, but I have 4 people recruit-a-friended right now, I'm not abandnoning them >_<

If we could get bonus credits for recruiting friends to Lusternia, that would rock so hard.

Admittedly not well advertised.

I don't like this, I hate the fact that they are selling something the free players cannot get with in game gold. Making the game no longer a FTP game and offically labeled a pay for perks game. I really think the step ire took with marketing at least with the 25% experience boost was in the wrong dirrection.

I believe the games have always been pay for perk. and minus the permanent part of the experience boost, you can get them with achievements and the various experience days.
Everything else in the package you can get with in game gold.
