He was town, same as Arix. Hag is a HoN hero.

What sounds iffy about that, Casilu? I have no more information than I did yesterday, so unless someone has a clue, I'm voting at random. Again. This is going to get really lame really fast if each day is just voting at random, so I'm hoping someone has more of a clue than I do.

I may just be paranoid, but it sounds like you're role-fishing.

I don't know, I'm having trouble analyzing day 1 right now, can't really make heads or tails of it. :S I'm with you on this though. It just seems odd, especially with the way Sylphas was so focused on 'pumping people for information' at the end of Day 1.

Would you rather we lynch people before they say anything? What is the point of the game if we just lynch people at random and then have someone die at night, then lynch someone at random? The best we could do on day one was learn what we could before we killed someone.
Riluna2010-06-11 09:44:05
Not at all. Roleclaims are not the only information we have, though.

Admittedly, I've only played a few games, but in every one the roleclaim at right before lynch was a sort of last-resort defense. I've not seen anybody go fishing and picking and choosing who to push towards lynch explicitly to find out their role like you did. That's why it seems odd to me.
Sylphas2010-06-11 10:00:38
Picking and choosing? My vote never went to Solanis. Next time we lynch would you rather we just hammer them before they can claim? I'd rather know that and have the chance to spare them than just lynch and find out who they were that way.

And admittedly, same here, this is basically my first game. Last game I did nothing and then got nightkilled. I'm trying to not just sit around and stagnate this game.
Riluna2010-06-11 10:16:56
Why are you pushing so hard that I'm trying to hammer people before a roleclaim? I never said anything like that. My issue is your apparent reasoning behind your votes. (pressuring solely to get a roleclaim). No, you didn't end the day on Solanis, but you did vote for him, moving your vote to Siam after Solanis roleclaimed. Not a great deal to go on given the circumstances, perhaps, but with you opening day 2 with a statement that sounds an awful lot like "investigators, please announce yourselves now," and I am certainly very suspicious.

No, you didn't. I didn't say you did. I was asking what you'd rather have us do? What do you pressure for besides roleclaims? We could have picked a person at random by tying the vote, sure. Or we could have all unvoted and just no lynched. What would you have us do under a deadline for a lynch on day one? Get zero information before the first night?

And you're right, I did vote for Solanis, my bad. I'm heading to bed, good luck finding something to do besides run a train on me for trying not to vote at random. Sorry about that, I'll go back to rolling dice for it.

Riluna2010-06-11 10:49:34
Ask questions. Get answers. Certainly do not try to expose every valuable role you can. Even if you're not scum, at the best that's very anti-town. Basically, promote discussion. We get no information with no discussion. I think the scum are loving this current environment, since they can basically lurk until we do randomly lynch another of our own.

You can also voice suspicions, and see if you can't get scum to slip up. Paranoid much? How can I possibly be "running a train" on you, when I'm the only other one awake right now.

There's a lot you can do besides trying to expose every power-role you can as fast as you can. Except for scum. They have agendas much like yours.
Vote: Solanis

EDIT: Spelling fail.

So Solanis dead is a good thing, but Arix was apart of town?

Why would Solanis being dead be a good thing? Having someone who is resistent to night kills could have been really helpful for us!

Well, the name doesn't evoke the prettiest of images, true, but that's not enough reason to think he wasn't town (especially with his nightkill resistence!)

Rolefishing isn't good. While I understand wanting something more to go rather than just having another random lynch, trying to get a claim this early on isn't a good idea. If someone says, "Ok, hi! I'm cop. I didn't discover anything useful yet, but hiii!" it puts town at more risk because the scum know who to target that night, and losing power roles early on in the game makes it harder for us to win!

Has everyone checked in? Finger of suspicion on my end right now is Dynami and Sylphas.
Dugan2010-06-11 14:29:13
You never really learn anything on day 1. The first day 1 lynch is just a shot in the dark. It is an unfortunate reality. And no, I don't think everyone has checked in for the start of the new day yet either.

I don't really think Sylph is acting scummy, I think he is acting like a normal over-excited new mafia player.
Dugan2010-06-11 15:55:30
After a quick check, it does appear that everyone has posted at least once so far. So far on day 2 ( which has only been about 24 hours, give them more time ) we haven't heard from Silferas, Shalamit, Gleip, Vendetta or Furien.

Of course it isn't good. But if they've found a scum, I expect them to speak up, since it's almost certain we have someone to protect them with all the healers and support running around in HoN. If we don't have an Accursed or Jereziah or something I'll eat my steamboots. And I didn't say "Hey everyone gimme your roles!" I asked if anyone learned anything useful. Whether that's in role or just something they noticed that I missed.

For someone to have learned something useful on their own, they would be a role that mafia would want to kill. So if anyone just reveals "I learned this", it serves the same end as "Gimme your roles!". Information has to come in the form of conversation. I don't think Dynami is acting suspicious at all. Sylphas moreso, but got no fos' here.

Basically, yeah. Someone will nudge heavily or come out when they have info. So, I have made the executive decision, as Master of BOINK!, to VOTE: SYLPHAS
