Why do you need bonus str as a guardian? Why not the extra dex for stancing?

Well, I'm a wiccan. ninja.gif

More strength is stronger toad stomp.

Really? Meh. I still absolutely loathe the way toadstomp works, honestly.

It makes sense, but in the same way more size should matter even more (but probably doesn't).

Damage type is part brute, part physical, right? That's size + strength.

And if you listen reaaaal close, you can hear Sylphas scream.

Plus, longer shieldstun.

YOU WERE ALL THINKING IT!

I thought it! tongue.gif

It is true, right?

What's considered the best overall guardian race, other than demigod humans?

Level 95 humans. tongue.gif

In more seriousness, trying to do everything well is the best way to not do anything well enough. Pick a strength and aim for "good enough" in the rest. If you can't settle, go furrikin, but not until you've really, really decided to refuse to make a decision.

Something tanky. Demigod lobo or taurian looks good.

EDIT: If you're a Celestine astrologer, then you also want high int + tankiness. The only race I can think of that fits those qualifications is Demigod human though...

Hmm.. Thankyeh.

How about for warriors?

(And is there really such a massive disparity between humans and everything else?)

Not really. Human is just that good.

My meteors can't even kill a lobo. sad.gif
Razenth2010-06-03 02:30:48
Celestines have extra features that can make damage kills theorectically viable with high enough int and a supportive tertiary, i.e. Astrologer. I wouldn't even know how wiccans kill with meteor though.
Razenth2010-06-03 02:30:48

Find a squishy. I meteor killed Scax and Daj with a four sphere meteor and one moonburst each. Barring that, go Elfen and get a magic damage rune, basically.
Razenth2010-06-03 03:24:35
I suppose a certain level of brute force overwhelms any strategy.

Warriors generally have to make fewer sacrifices. You can pick a beater race (igasho, krokani, orclach) or a squishy, speedy race (aslaran, spec faeling) until/if you reincarnate human. There are some corner cases like tae'dae for influencing warrior. Generally, if you look at a race and think, "Oh, that's for warriors," you're probably right and it's probably on par with the other warrior races, unless you're doing something silly like non-Axelord dwarf.

War karma blessing, Shadowdance Steal. It's also helpful if there's a negative fire susceptibility sphere, negative magic susceptibility sphere, and positive intelligence sphere smile.gif
