Changeling Tags ( or something else) - 50 cr
Rerolls the appearance of your beast every weave. If you find one you like, you can interact with the tags in some way to keep it that way until you do the same thing again.

Make the current changeling cameo into a two-stage artifact. The mini-cameo is 250cr and lets you switch between only three races (the first three you changeling into while using it). You can then upgrade it to the full cameo later for the difference in price.

YES PLEASE I WOULD TOTALLY GET THAT.

As would I!

I'd buy this. Even if it was just two.

I personally think that it makes sense for changeling artifacts to be staged. I mean, it's kind of silly for you one day to just wake up and be like "Oh, so now I can be 19 other races.".

I believe the point of it is you were always a changeling, and could be all races, but just now (as of buying the artifact) realized it.

This is true. However, I like the idea of there being more changelings. It's just a fun concept.

Could do more with it, sell an artie for 500cr where you can change into 10 different races.
Lendren2011-07-04 04:21:01
Estarra's a lot less likely to go for that one because it'll cannibalize cameo sales. But the 3-race, 250cr version will probably not steal any full cameo sales, as most of the people who buy it would never have bought a cameo; and it might encourage a few, since it makes a stepwise upgrade path to it.

I'd go for that in a second. And I wouldn't ever buy a cameo unless I won the lottery or something. So Lendren's probably right.

250-300 cr, I'd still totally be willing to pay to be able to change into 2-3 races. Well. 2 races, excluding the native one you were?

Here's the issue I can see with this.
When you buy a cameo, for most practical purposes, you're buying it for two or three races anyway. While you can be any crazy thing you like technically, what is a resonable option mechancially is usually fairly limited by archetype and organization. Most cameo users probably have a slew of races they haven't been, or have only been shortly for the pure sake of it.
So, it is likely that this artifact will certainly cannibalize future cameo sales, simply because someone being pragmatic towards what they need probably only requires a couple of other races.
For 250-300 credits, I could see perhaps an artifact that allows race change once an in game year, to one other race. That could reflect a mixed heritage more than being a changling, with a different part of their genetics coming to the fore at different stages of their life. It would also allow for the "feel" of were-lobos, were-bugs, were-fish, and of course, were-wumps, without actually crobarring such things in to the game.
But 2-3 races once a month? For most people, that is simply what a cameo is anyway. It would be as instantly prolific as cloaking gems.

Stuff that makes sense
This is basically what I was going to say, minus the idea for the different artifact, that's an actually cool idea.
Unknown2011-07-04 15:38:07
I just don't want to shell out 1000 cr for 2-3 races.
But sure, if I could have one race every IG year out of a choice of 2-3, I'd go for that too.

I only really swap between Faeling, Human, and Dwarf. Dwarf for being tanky, Human for aetherhunts, and Faeling for everything else. I'd probably be furrikin a bit more if I didn't have Changeself. I likely won't use anything else unless I go Shofangi, in which case I'll likely be Human/Lobo and occasionally Furrikin.
Also, does anyone know if they stack? That is, if you bought two of the 250cr 2-3 race ones, you could have three before it cost as much as a cameo and get almost as much out of it. (If you have two cameos, can you change twice a month?)

They would have to not stack. The whole point of this is to limit it enough to still make full cameos sell -- otherwise Estarra won't consider it.

True. I suppose I'm just curious about what happens if you buy two cameos/mirrors/other cooldown things.

I would like an artifact for mages/guardians/druids/bards that lets your attack go through mob shields (only mobs). It could do any of the following: 1) Cut damage by 50% but destroy the shield. 2) Do 100% damage but leave the shield intact. 3) Do 100% damage, destroy the shield, but for a slightly longer balance recovery.
Of these I'd order them 2, 1, 3. I'd probably be willing to pay 500-700 credits.
