Tome of Tongues: (150-200cr, or however many others think it should cost)

With this tome you are able to learn up to 2 racial languages. If you are a bookbinder or your race has a racial language, this will be in addition to the languages you already know/can learn. You must be in a library to use this artifact, and must STUDY . Once the Tome is used up, it bursts into flames. You can only every buy this artifact once, so choose carefully which languages you wish to learn.

Alternatively: Once per Lusternian year, you may switch any language you know with a new one. First, you must OPEN TOME, then SWITCH WITH . Once used, the Tome will lock and will not unlock for a year.

You can already forget languages.

Buy a Cameo and changeling into the race of the language you want to forget.. You'll have a new language slot open up, and when you change to a different race, you'll lose the language of the race you were.

The Elixir of Youth (no more than 500 cr.?)

A most precious of cures, this sought-after alchemical wonder can remedy the disease of age itself. Each sip refines the body and mind, returning the drinker to the physical and mental form she embodied at eighteen years of age. The effect lasts from the moment the elixir is ingested until the drinker leaves the realms. So potent is the elixir that a single vial will last one mortal an eternity, but one of the required ingredients is the blood of recipient herself, limiting its effectiveness to her and making its blessing, a lonely curse to endure no less.

Basically, Penumbra without the stat increase and the Night skillset. For those seeking immortality and immortals possessed by vanity.

Interesting idea. Maybe there could also be a 200cr version that resets you back to 18 but you age up from there again. (Kind of like how there's both a bubble and a mirror of gender changing, one a one-time and one repeating... and both a dagger and cameo for race changing.)
Jigan2009-04-13 17:02:37
Perhaps an artifact bubble, or maybe an actual place in the Basin, such as a well, or a fountain, that changes your age to the year you desire, as long as it's between 18 and your current age.

While I'm unsure of how timepeices affect aeon all that much, I believe they reduce the time? Perhaps a series of artifact watches that provide a chance of nullifying aeon instead. I'm not sure, but maybe a 10% chance to just prevent aeon?

Edit: Re: Bubble

This way, a couple could get together and avoid cradle robbing. Or to reduce or change ages for considering children and such. And it's not just "I'm 18 again" it's "Well, I only need to be 58, so lemme go visit the wishing well and lose 47 1/2 years."

Editedit: Line of watches could include a set of rare metal various. Such as skysteel or Celestial gold. But if I'm reading this right, and we already have a celestial gold watch...I love precedent.

If possible, it would be swell if your "actual age" based on the date you were born was what affected whether or not you could adopt, with the '18'/altered age as more of a cosmetic addition to one's honors and score.

Hammer of Reeducation: 100 credits, resets all the languages you get from bookbinding, thus allowing you to pick new ones. One time use. Syntex - REEDUCATE SELF WITH HAMMER.
Unknown2009-04-22 01:48:36
Hammer of Forgetfulness: Either 100 or 500 or 1500 credits
Once per Lusternian year:
The 100 credit one resets all the lessons in ONE skill tree. IE: HAMMER SELF PLANAR would reset planar down to inept and refund every single lesson ever put into it.
The 500 credit one resets three skills of your choice. IE: HAMMER SELF PLANAR COMBAT ENVIRONMENT would reset planar, combat and environment down to inept and refund every single lesson put into it.
The 1500 credit one resets ALL of your skills down to inept and refunds every single lesson you ever put into your character.

Great for guild hoppers.

I think it would be nice if various items auctioned in the past were put up for sell.

Wands of Ice/Fire/Illusions; Censers; Astral Boots; Cowhide Boots; etc.

I wonder how, if they ever sell them, the censers would be priced.
Narsrim2009-04-22 02:26:18
I think the best way to address price is to make them cost the most someone ever paid for one.

I paid 765 because Kaervas kept driving the bloody price up on me.

Sojiro paid like... 225 or something.

And they valued it at 500.

Trees are easy... indoor/outdoor is less so.

I still want that ring that prevents being tossed by the waves on the seas!
Jigan2009-04-22 18:57:44
Minor artifacts.

Take the tradeskill artifacts. Now, let's go to the magic quill.

Are most people going to use it like mad? No. Is it worth the cost? Not really. Enchanted quill, requires half the magic per use. Or, free ink X times a day.

Special seasonings, magic tongs, the little eye thing for jewelers. Just a few uses a day or something small to cut so we don't have to pay so much, if we get little use from it.
