Maw of the Leviathan - 350 credits
Allows you to ILLDRAIN corpses per the illithoid ability.

I'm trying to imagine a faeling with this artifact, and all I can think of now is:
No.
If you really insist, it should be more like 600 CR.

Is it really that important? Influencing seems like more of a toy than a serious endeavor, I'm only doing it because my 'net connection at home is too unstable right now for bashing(at least when I lose a debate I don't have to redef and wait forever and a day).
And the very few debates I've had as a Faeling have shown me that you'd have to be incredibly good/lucky at it to beat a Faeling anyway, a few extra points of ego wouldn't be all THAT important. I had someone debating my mindset's weakness and I was only losing a couple hundred ego.

It would not be a few extra points. It would be several thousand at the upper crust. Compare that to artifacts that boost h/m/e to certain %s respectively.
Ego is important for things other than influence too. Hi there, TK mages!

That would give me a possible of about 8K ego as a merian, as a faeling it'd be even more, combine that with a forcefield and you've suddenly got a mage with no weaknesses, great potion equilibrium and 8/9K health, no.

A faeling can already get 8/9K ego at demi without Illdrain. With it, they could have as much ego as a totally maxed out, artied up warrior has health.
Whether or not that would be acceptable is arguable. However, you must admit it would make the artifact far and away more valuable than 350 CR.
Moiraine2009-08-14 02:27:45
I admit, I didn't really think about mages. We get neat psychic powers as monks, but they aren't active skills, for the most part.
I don't know anything about this Forcefield skill. How exactly does that work?

Zalandrus2009-08-14 03:10:20
With it locked, any damage you take hits your ego instead of your health. Will create nasty burnout though if you drop to 0 ego due to it.
Moiraine2009-08-14 04:07:25
Does that include limb wounding and such?
Esano2009-08-14 04:23:38
No. Damage damage. Anything that would normally decrease your health (excluding aurics and such) will instead decrease your ego.

Rune of permenant-ness - 50cr
Attatching this to any item, wether it be jewelry, weapon or otherwise will give it the basic attributes of having any artifact attatched to it but without any added effects, cuz god damn it I don't WANT to spend 100 extra credits just to give my staff gripping when I don't need it

HELP CUSTOMIZATION. 100 credits for resetting and non-decay. Gripping rune is the exact same cost plus some added benefit.
They're not going to make an artifact half the cost of their current setup...

That's not for guild specific items, though
But yeah I see your point.
Ayisdra2009-08-15 15:08:45
Can't you just get the non-decay custom on it?

Actually, it does work on guild specific items (except things like crow cloak). It's just better to use a rune when they're the same cost.
Also: Non-decay custom is a waste of credits really. If it's stolen you've just had 50 credits stolen from you.

Yes, though I do think you should be aware that if it's stolen and put into a nexus or something, like any other summonable item, it will be lost forever if it does not reset.

You sure? I tried doing that so I could get a fresh staff and it came back with only 10 months again...

If you perm a staff for 50 credits, and it gets put into the Pool/Megalith/Flaming Craw of Trixyqwdfr the Tainted Lord of Cookies, and you summon another, it's a different staff. you have to get it "resetting" for 100 credits to make it like you want it.
