Or at least some way to extend ads instead of making new ones... even if the extension only brings an ad to the same amount of time that a new one would have so some gold is "lost" in the process.

Oh please no. It wouldn't take long for the ad board to be filled up with permanent ads.
I'd rather see a way to make ads last longer... say by specifying how long it will be up when you create it, with fees based on duration.
A related idea I had was a dingbat item that periodically makes a recorded market announcement for you. You could record your message, turn it on/off, and it would make the market announce every... 20 minutes? 30?

The dingbat artifact would be good, although I don't think anything shorter than an hour would be pleasant once there were a few of them around.

A gnomish jet-pack; when FLIPped (flipping a switch), it turns on and gives you the levitation defense! But it is removed if you remove the jetpack.
Alternatively, make it an upgrade to the Gnomish Surfboard; you buy that, then you can buy an upgrade that lets it also give you Levitation. (Since, when probed, it's already pretty much perfect for this...)

Anyone with a bladed weapon (or maybe it's only two handers) can behead a corpse as I recall. Trackers of course can. I know many people who buy and trade beheaded heads/trophies. If this was coded to be able to phase plain heads in and out I know the Ninjakari and Nekotai would go -crazy- about the artifact.
PS heads and trophied heads decay in stockrooms still, except a very rare few from long ago. A way to keep them in a neckless is so badass IMO.

It's just a Tracker skill afaik.
Axelord / Pureblade / BM can fire a Behead affliction on a living person, and Pureblade can start a timed instakill (Decapitate) on a living person, but only Trackers can use BEHEAD CORPSE.
Nekotai / Ninjakari use the full body itself if they get the body, they don't pop the head off.

Possible, but they can't actually make the heads themselves. They've got absolutely no way to do it.
It's pretty limited unless the BEHEAD CORPSE gets moved out of tracking, really, and I'm not so sure that's a great idea because of masks. The heads / masks were made to decay for a reason.
